shortcode Gavick template not working anymore in version 2.10.x was created by Astrid
Gavick template gk_technews comes with a possibility to add a slideshow in an article (or K2 item) using shortcodeThis was working without any problems until K2 version 2.9, but doesn't work anymore when updating K2 to version 2.10.
Page <head> is completely empty, other item content is not loaded either.
I did test the shortcode by putting it in a core Joomla article, and there it works without problems.

Content plugins work just fine in K2. Check AllVideos or Simple Image Gallery for that matter...
There's a chance the plugin does not "fire" for some reason.
Depending on where you call the item for output (which includes the plugin tags), e.g. in some module, you may need to enabled plugin rendering there.
An actual URL would certainly help...

Url from testsite. Clean Joomla install with only K2 and Gavick template. 2 menu-items, 1 default Joomla article, 1 K2 item. Both with identical content.
Install K2 V 2.9.0 and problem is gone.

K2 v2.10.x made plugin parsing more strict (as it should have been all along).
Your issue may likely be resolved by simply re-ordering your plugins in the backend. Try re-ordering the Gavick one first if it's a content plugin. If it's a system plugin, the problem lies elsewhere...

It's not a plugin, so reordering is not the solution.

If you use plugin tags, it must be a plugin. Otherwise it's some voodoo the template is doing with the help of some system plugin.
