Without a custom built plugin, you can't, sorry.

I'm afraid not. Is there any point in that either way (reversing the ID)?
I get what you want to do, but without a plugin your best bet is to hack K2 core and this is not a sustainable (or safe) approach...

Yes, the point is that I'm trying to find some meaningful way to organize the search results.
Case in point, we have a category called "Texture". When searching for "texture", we want the items in that category to show first. However, what is happening is that any item that mentions "texture" or has a tag of "textured" is showing up first and the actual items in the "Texture" category are showing up way down the list on another page.
Likewise, we have a category called "Natura". But, if you search for "natura", all of the items that contain "natural" or "naturally" or any other form of the word are showing up first and the actual items in the "Natura" category are way down the list.
I need a definitive way to make sure the correct items are at the top of the list.

I have a better option...
You can create different search module instances (using the K2 Tools module) for each such category. And each such module can filter results in each respective category (and its children if they exist).
These are the search options in the K2 Tools module: jmp.sh/2TLCNZ1

But, I need those results showing regardless of the page the user is on. That is the whole point. If a user had to navigate to a certain category first before searching, there would be no point in searching...they could just look on the page. Plus, with 200+ categories, it would be an overwhelming task to create 200+ instances of the same module. Even then, the search would not return the correct results unless you were already on the correct page.

MySQL will return the most relevant results then, which is what you get already.
