We are very excited to release an all new version of one of our most popular extensions, Simple Image Gallery version 3.0.0, now fully compatible with Joomla! versions 1.5 to 3.1!

Simple Image Gallery has already been downloaded more than 1.5 million times and this new version fully updates the plugin to the newest Joomla! releases, as well as improving overall performance of the plugin.

This new update adds/fixes the following:
- Compatibility with Joomla! 1.5 to 3.1
- Now uses the FancyBox popup engine which is based on jQuery.
- Simpler parameters for the plugin (just the basics really!)
- Uses the Joomla! extension updater
- Removed the generic messages in the gallery grid view
- Added a print stylesheet so there is a reference to your gallery when a user prints the page where it's embedded, instead of seeing nothing in the place of the gallery (much more elegant).
- Fully MVC-compatible templating (as always)
- Smart image resizing enabled by default: your images will smartly fit the thumbnail dimensions you set in the plugin parameters. Ideal when showcasing images that are both "landscape" and "portrait" in orientation.

UPGRADING
This new version will install as "jw_sig" on your filesystem. That means the file structure and names have changed from "jw_simpleImageGallery" to "jw_sig", so you simply need to copy the plugin parameters you had set on the older version (if it was installed on your system) to the new one, then completely uninstall the old version (2.x). Your galleries will remain intact. Later updates won't have this "hassle" obviously.
