I have problem with K2 reCAPTCHA v2 in registration form.
When I do not sign reCAPTCHA and post form with register button I get an error "404 component not found".
But when I sign reCAPTCHA registration is correct.

It seems that the validation of reCAPTCHA not working properly.

I have disabled Joomla reCAPTCHA plugin and I enebled it only in k2 component.
My site key and secret key is correct.

reCAPTCHA v1 working correct.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

There will be someone who will help me with this?

I have updated K2 from 2.6.9 to 2.7. For a while Google reCaptcha almost worked perfectly.
Sometimes it offered new Google reCaptcha sometimes it offered old Google reCaptcha. But it has always let me comment and publish the comment after I satisfied the reCaptcha.

Now it kind of stopped working. Now it is always showing the new Google reCaptcha but after filling all the fields and satisfying the reCaptcha I always get green tick from reCaptcha with message ‘I’m not a robot’ but after the ‘Submit commnet’ button I always get message ‘The words you typed did not match the ones displayed. Please try again.'

K2 2.7.0
Load jQuery is enabled

What can I do now to solve this error and how?

Google ReCaptcha v2. The one where you click on a checkbox.

Well, this seems a bit odd, but it worked. I reset the Captcha/Recaptcha plugin to version 1, leaving the codes as they were for version 2. Tested Comments section again and the captcha is now working.

Hope this helps someone else out there.

I'm having issues with the recaptcha piece of the commenting system not accepting entries. Does this post mean if Joomla's Captcha/Recaptcha plugin is enabled, this is the cause?

Also, this site runs PHP v 5.6 with Joomla 3.4.8

The error when trying to comment reads:
The words you typed did not match the ones displayed. Please try again.

Have been trying to reply to Post #151079, but don't see where I can do that. I'm having the same issue with ReCaptcha giving message "The words you typed did not match the ones displayed. Please try again." The characters entered DO match what's being displayed. I'm referring to the Comments section of K2.

Not quite sure how to get ReCaptcha 2 working with K2 v 2.6.9.

Any help out there today would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure that you have entered the correct keys in K2's configuration and you are not using Joomla!'s reCaptcha as well.

Finally make sure that your site does not have any JavaScript errors.

I am sorry to hear this because it means my site will remain broken until you release the next version. Unfortunately I use K2 on my site as well as EasyBlog. It is working fine in EasyBlog and I have a hard time thinking about rolling back to the OLD reCAPTCHA. And, in fact I do not believe that Google will allow that.

So, again, here is hoping for the next K2 version and hoping that the professional version will come out and that the fees we pay for it will generate enough revenue to help speed up your development cycles!

Sorry to reopen this thread once again, but there is another topic with function not showing. Once i turn on Use Recaptcha in K2 Comment Settings, it is not shown on my site, but once the user enters Text, Name and Email and confirms his entries via the send button, a message appears that entries are missing - recaptcha is not showing.

I'm not sure I follow. If I'm not mistaken in K2 settings I can only choose one security procedure and that is set to reCaptcha. I added the Aksimet API key in Anti spam settings but if I'm correct it won't do anything because in the comments settings the anti-spam protection is set to reCaptcha.
Or should I enable joomal's reCaptcha and Aksimet in K2? Or simply switch to Aksimet instead of reCaptcha?

Ok I missed the option to enable both. But how I know that Askimet is working? I was browsing the html code with firebug but I couldn't any hints that its working. Is the filtering done server side (php)? because than I understand why can't I see anything in the html code.

I have resolved the problem :)
You don't have to disable anything, just to get the Captcha - ReCaptcha plugin working on K2 comment you have to follow these steps:

1 - ON www.google.com/recaptcha Go to
- USE reCAPTCHA ON YOUR SITE
- ADD Gmail account if you don't have, or log in if you have.
- Go MY ACCOUNT -> + Add a New Site
- Create a reCAPTCHA key -> ADD your Domain -> Create a Key.
- Copy (Public Key and then you will copy the Private Key)

2 - On your admin panel go to:
- Component -> K2 -> Parameters -> Comments-> Active reCaptcha -> Yes.
- Go to Component -> K2 -> Parameters -> Advanced -> Anti-spam.
- Past the two Key that you have from Google. (Public and Private Key)
-> Refresh you site and you got it ^_^

IF YOU STILL DON'T HAVE THE CAPTCHA WORKING:
Make sure you have enabled the K2 plugin and Comments on the Category options.
That should be resolving your problem.

- IF, IF that is still not working:
- Go to your site
- Click " F12 " on Google Chrom / Control+F12 (Firebugs, Firefox)
- Refresh your web site
- If you have a JavaScript errors try to find what is your problems and solutions.
- Last thing if you don't have any JS problem, You should re-install joomla xD

Thanks for the help so far. I might have made my initial post not clear enough.
The issue is not that the form itself isn't working, but rather that the ReCaptcha challenge text is wrong.
In the past, the captchas used to be two words, but since ReCaptcha ran out of words that needed to be digitized, they started using house numbers instead, one per challenge.
However, the challenge text above the captcha image still says: "Enter the two words you see below"
It's just a minor thing, but still irks me and I'd like to change that query to something like simply "Please solve the captcha below" or something like that.

With all due respect, I don't think you're understanding what is going on. Let me explain again:

I have a website that uses K2
K2 has ReCaptcha enabled
ReCaptcha is working in the sense that a new user cannot register without entering the ReCaptcha information
ReCaptcha is not stopping fake user registrations. See image below of two recent obviously fake registrations (I disabled them)


I need a different solution to stop hackers.

I have comments turned on with Recaptcha function in use and the comments system is working fine but spam is still getting through. As I have always found Recaptcha to stop spam I was wondering if spam is able to bypass the recaptcha process. Can anyone throw any light on this and also tell me how to fix this.
