Migration joomla version 1.5 to 2.5, it´s sucks

Category: English K2 Community

A week ago I'm trying to migrate the contents of K2 version 1.5 to 2.5
I bought two extensions that do not work. (DM K2 XML Exporter and Import for K2)
And support the extension JUpgrade is garbage, you download the extension for free but have to pay a fortune to solve the bug of extension.
Their support is unresponsive and inefficient, the don´t aswers my question.
I need to change 10 years of content from one to another joomla and so far only lost money.
None of them work right.
Can you help me?

I do not recommend the k2, if I knew that would just never have played my part in this content.

Trying to find a better Extra Field editor

Category: English K2 Community

We are using the current K2 version with Joonla 2.5, which we just upgraded to from Joomla 1.5.

In our Extra Fields, which are text areas, we seem to be confined to just using the default editor (Tiny MCE?), instead of our preferred editor, CKEditor. CKEditor works OK in the Content field, but does not appear in the Extra Fields.

The K2 default editor can't do things like create or edit tables, do block quotes, etc. Nor can the editing windows be resized as in a normal Joomla article.

Since we need a full-featured editor for content input in these Extra Fields (and be able to resize our working edit windows), I'm wondering if anyone has found an editor that works with K2, or how to configure K2 to allow a better editor to be used in the Extra Fields.

Where to put css override?

Category: English K2 Community

Thank you Twoten
I want simple to modify the main css file, not the view files, because if I upgrade K2 I don't overwrite the modified file.
So, I must copy the
components/com_k2/css/
into
templates/my_template/html/com_k2/css/?
It seems don't affect the look of k2 items

Upgrading K2 reset style sheet [SOLVED]

Category: English K2 Community

Hi

I just upgraded from 2.5.4 to 2.5.7 (on Joomla 2.5.6)

The style sheet over wrote the styles from the previous installation. I have gone through and resolved the issue but before I upgrade the rest of my sites, just wanted to know if this was supposed to happen.

Just trying to get a handle on the work load ahead!

thanks

First of all please upgrade to K2 2.5.7 version.
In addition, remember that the directory path in SIG PRO plugin should be images instead of /media/k2/galleries/.

How did you upload the gallery in Web Design item?

K2 tags & user groups stopped working

Category: English K2 Community

I recently had my website upgraded to SQL 5.1.63 and PhP 5.3.15. I am using Joomla 2.5.4. The ISP that did the upgrade messed up and SQL has now been recompiled to properly include all the necessary PhP extensions about 6 times. I thought things were fine until I tried adding tags to new articles - they won't add - they just vanish. And none of my other articles had their tags either and I cannot re-add them. Then I realized that I was unable to add new users to a K2 group. So while my articles are still grouping and presenting themselves ok, I have lost the ability to have tags, groups and, by the way, K2 comments.
Anyone with any clues on how to fix this?

For me the issue is due to a not reall good match of the :
mycsvfolder & mycsvfile and the php code. I couldn't find at this moment how solve
Good to have a default folder under Plugin's Manager and have a unique file under the item's form

Any help could be very nice.

K2 and ja_purity_ii

Category: English K2 Community

I am new to joomla and k2.

I am using the template ja_purity_ii and I have tried to create template overrides using cssk2. The templates show up in the right place, but have no effect. When I look at the code it does not appear that the override css files are being loaded. In fact because of the way the template is coded it's hard to tell what css files are loaded.

It appears to me that if I want to override the k2 css, then I have to go into the k2.css file and change it there which I'd rather not do because of the maintenance issues when an upgrade comes along.

Also suggestions on simple templates that better support K2 are welcome.

Thanks.

How to change User Extended Fields for K2 labels?

Category: English K2 Community

I did not solve the problem by renaming the file. Instead I found the code that was provided by somebody else and pasted it at the end of each of the userExtendedFieldsini files. But, your reply makes me aware that I am probably missing something very basic on how it is supposed to work. Either way it is working for me, at least until the next upgrade when I supposed my changes could be over written. Interestingly enough it seems to me that I did edit the language file and that the language file was read by the system. You can see this at the working at the bottom of my Items now such as at life.drcarney.com/results/item/33-test-two-extra-fields-included where I have now got the clean English displaying.
Thank you very much for being helpful!

Category: English K2 Community

I am importing a K2 DB from a jupgrade 1.5 to 2.5 site. I did the upgrade, rebuilt a new site and imported a majority of the upgraded db to the new site.
Now I have this number 1 displaying after the titles on modules and componets of the k2. Im sure it musty have something to do with the user group, user, something, I just cant figure it out.

It seems I imported every k2 table I can figure out. Any one have suggestions where I may have missed something. Note that you can see the "1" nearly anywhere you can find a k2 title.

I would also like to add that the issue shows on articles I add new also.
