Fotis, has the internal quality control checklist been done for V3 of FPSS? Looking forward to seeing it soon.

JoomlaWorks said:Well, one honest reason is we're working a lot with K2 to improve it and yes, we have left FPSS + K2 integration behind. However v3 of FPSS is ready and once it passes our quality control checklist we will roll it out as a free upgrade to existing customers.

k2 Directory Listing vs. Sobi2?

Category: English K2 Community

Hi David,

Yes, there does seem to be 2 (maybe even 3) main issues with Victoria's thread question...

1) User managed content - need to create a User Group with proper permissions, assign users to that group, allow them to manage their own content only and not others content. Be sure to check out the K2 Parameters for more show/hide options for frontend editing... Components -> K2 -> Parameters -> Frontend Editing section

2) Give users ability to upgrade their listings - Maybe a custom paid membership component that interacts with K2 needs to be built. I don't know exactly how you would achieve this goal.

3) Custom K2 template for frontend display of listings - be sure to use the template override packages provided by Fotis here... community.getk2.org/forum/topics/k2-template-override-package

k2 Directory Listing vs. Sobi2?

Thanks Justin, So the two main issues seem to be creating a template where it is easy for users to upload images and fill in custom fields and then adding a custom coded module so that they can upgrade their listings whenever they need to.
Appreciate your input
David

Justin Herrin said:I believe you could achieve half of your question by creating a new User Group for your customers. Give that new User Group the following permissions...
Edit Own Items - Yes
Edit Any Item - No
Front-End Editing - Yes
Publish Items - Yes

Then of course create new user accounts for your customers (or have them sign up) and assign them to the newly created User Group.

A custom Category Template could easily handle the front-end display of your directory listings.

Problem is with the "upgrade my listing" option. I don't think K2 offers that feature without an addon/custom coding.

Hi Brian,
Where did you get the download from?
All the versions I have tested, including svns have all installed without any issue, including upgrades.

If you are testing on a live site, then add me as a friend and if you send me your login details, I will take a look for you.

Multiple CSS options

Category: English K2 Community

Hi Francico,

It is possible to use use different K2 templates with different colours or even style which are assigned to menu items.
It is even possible to assign different joomla templates to the menu item, with each joomla template having its own set of k2 templates.
mkcworthing.org shows an example of two joomla templates being used, one for centre, one for club.
Both will have their own sets of k2 templates, but this is still in development.

It is strongly advised to keep the k2 template over rides within the joomla template and not the k2 component, because when you upgrade k2, you will loose your templates.

Full instructions are contained within the link that William provided.

Also, there is the cc4k2 plugin which will allow each k2 template to have its own css file thus allowing an infinite control over each template style.
This is the option that you should be using, the css file would then sit within the same folder as your item.php, category.php etc, but again, should be moved to your Joomla template.

Hope that helps, but feel free to post back further questions.

Or do I have to make all these menus new?
Click on create a new menu item and select K2. This is where menu items from k2 items are usually made, so best to recreate them and see if they do what you want.
You can also use mod_k2_content and loadposition{ ...} to load k2 items into a joomla article.

Read about k2 templating or overrides and onecss4k2. With these features, especially onecss4k2 you can modify the way things look for a particular category or item and it wont affect the default behavior. Also, it wont be overwritten when you upgrade or reinstall. Using the :hide feature in css is particularly handy when wanting to hide something. If your editing an override, you can cut the code that causes the display out for that override only.

Module Bullet List

Category: English K2 Community

I just upgraded to the latest 2.2.3 version and noticed the content modules have inherited U L bullets as seen in the image. I have made multiple attempts to remove this through the k2.css template, and in making these attempted modifications, I have also used the Clean Cache plugin with a hard refresh, and I have yet to make any progress.Does anyone know the CSS class and code I ought to add? I have yet to figure this one out. Thank you.

line spacing or height in K2content module - Safari

Has this been fixed for anyone using K2 2.3? I've upgraded, checked all the modules are the correct version and I still get the big gaps. It's supposed to be fixed.

I've created a .clr and a .clrmodule class, but this requires changing the php as well, and can throw an entire website out. @dave, I'm feeling your pain!

Please help! Joomlaworks! Anybody!

RSS Feed is broken after Upgrade to K2 - 2.3

Category: English K2 Community

During the setup my K2 Component at the beginning of my work with K2, I already changed my settings for the rss. Now I changed the settings another time and the k2 rss 2.0 feed is back again.

Could it be, that after upgrade the component, the settings have to replace, to keep it working? Funny.

We got the update to K2(2.3) and noticed, that our campaigns weren´t sent by RSS Feed. Have a look at the feed, the feed with type RSS 2.0 has gone away.Different ways of the issue as simple as possible for you to help me solving this problem.Look at this page: www.praxistotal.net/blog
The K2 RSS button ist shown above the category description. (No entries in this RSS 2.0 feed)
In the browser adress line (using FF), the RSS 2.0 Feed ist empty too
ATOM 1.0 ist working by taking it from the adress line

Please, I took a look at the threads here in the forum, targeting the rss feed problem in April 2010 and May 2010. But there weren´t any usable answers. Thanks for the help.

The names in the file are descriptive and you can also use firefox to tell what div you want to put it just above.
