If you are having trouble with your Admin edit screen tabs after upgrade...

Category: English K2 Community

You may be using JCE as your editor. If this is the case, make sure you have the latest version installed.
Before updating JCE, I was receiving the following error (in error console) every time I clicked a tab:

Error: document.getElementById(c + ("_div_" + e)) is null
Source File: devo.mysite.com/administrator/components/com_k2/lib/simpletabs_1.3.packed.js

William,

It does appear to be a php version problem.

I'd set up XAMPP on a brand new computer then added Joomla and K2. The first test threw up the error above. I reistalled both Joomla and k2 just in case, but the error was still there.

I then dropped XAMPP back to a previous version (1.7.2), reinstalled Joomla and k2 and the error went away.

I'd suggest t's an issue that'll need to be addressed by devs quickly, since hosts will upgrade soon and that could result in lots of people having problems.

what if i don't want them to be displayed everywhere? I'm using rockettheme templates and it has a function to give
"pageless" content modules. K2 is just being weird. K2 should have a function to "link" all of it's content to a pseudo page where modules are defined. Currently when i click an item there are no modules. There are modules for items created prior to the upgrade, but controlling that was just random. It just happened to work sometimes.

Yes indeed you can "michael neese".. Those files are especially for joomlart Templates-owners.

I have reinstalled the site from scratch using the joomlart template with K2 version 2.2...I also had the "white pages" after the upgrade to 2.3, but in addition to that, the upgrade also broke the design, causing modules to not show on some pages where they did before...the k2 blog pages spread across the entire page, not allowing any other modules to position or show...
I think in my case, the joomlart designers probably hacked the k2 installation, then when upgraded it overwrote some code or something...I am posting this info on the joomlart forum...they should have some response or possibly re-doing the template with the k2 v2.3 installed...

Hi William. I have checked the parameters, and K2 CSS is enabled. I haven't changed anything to the core before I upgraded ( or since) and to be honest, I wouldn't know how to do this anyway. I simply downloaded the newest version of K2 and installed it through the components option on Joomla! and that was it. Since that time it has looked "weird" I really like K2 and hope this can be resolved because I'm not enjoying the wordpress component for Joomla at all!! Thanks

Hi. I am using rockettheme mixxmag. I didn't have any problems with K2 until I upgraded. I don't think the template could be overriding the K2 style because it didn't do it before. Any other suggestions would be so appreciated. Thanks!

I've posted this problem a month or so ago, but to date it hasn't been resolved.  Since upgrading, the formatting of the page has gone crazy.  The comments won't work properly and actually publishes all the email addresses, the share icons and rating icons are now in list format.
Could someone possibly take a look at the frontend and let me know if they have any solutions?  I had to switch out to wordpress in the mean time, but would love to go back to K2.

Category Page Problem Post-Upgrade

Category: English K2 Community

Hello there,

I recently upgraded my older version of K2 to the latest version. That solved a few problems and added a BIGGER problem. :(

I have attached 2 screenshots, one old and one new. The old version of K2 displayed my categories perfectly as would see in the screenie. And the latest version just shows a list of categories. How do i get the new version to display the categories just like the older version.

Cheers.....

Problem with Locally Hosted Videos

Category: AllVideos

Hi,

I have been using AllVideos with K2 for almost a year and never had an issue. Recently however, my locally hosted videos are not showing up at all. YouTube videos do play. I have not made any significant changes to the Web site so I am not sure what is going on. I upgraded to the latest version of AllVideos and checked my code. Here is an example:

cafemeetingplace.com/cafevision/beverage-videos/item/34-martini-shaken.html

I have: {mov}robert_martini_shaken{/mov}

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Yes, export your Joomla database.
This will contain all your joomla data such as modules used, menus and k2 too.
Consider getting Akeeba backup to help with that task. I am still old school and like to do things manually.

Get your new Joomla and K2 site up and running.
Import your data.

You should have no issues, fingers crossed as there will be no info int the db that would cause conflicts.
It might also be worth taking a look at the Joomla documents as that will advise on backups too.

After that, you would then probably need someone to take a look, as doing would be quicker than writing and waiting for a response.
