Hi I upgraded K2 to new 2.7.1 dev. When add new item in backend, I choose category for item and only one extra field is shown. I have 5 extra fields. When hit save all extra fields are shown.
Can anybody help where is problem?

I'm testing the K2 upgrade for one of my sites and I've noticed some nice little touches. I've backed the site up to another server to do this and then upgraded K2.

I have a problem I've noticed with the font resizer on the k2 items, which is broken after the upgrade. If I use the web inspector I can see that on the original site there is the event handler showing next to the HTML, but in the test site this is absent.

The test site is located at:

Unfortunately I didn't check if this was working after restoring the site to the test server.

I thought it was offering this functionality, although I might be mistaken. Since sh404sef offers a different router than Joomla!, the canonical tags might be off. You should ask the sh404sef devs which extension offers integration with sh404sef as well.

That probably would have been helpful to know up front. (Sorry, I've been working with other developers on this site and just lost track of what I said to whom).

It's not the search that is breaking, but an Ajax search. I'm using RokAjax (which I know slows things even more). The main problem is that they have over 1200 articles on their site. So to search through all of the text as well as tags bogs things down as they are.

But while searching on the default Joomla page (mod_search), and enabling the tag search, things are still very slow.

I should also say that I can't upgrade to K2 2.7 just yet. I tried that and it killed the site. Had to retro back to 2.6.9. So maybe this is fixed in 2.7 but I'll have to wait until another release of K2 to try it out. We are getting ready to launch the site and I can't have anything else delay it like a non-working K2 component. It's working great right now with the exception of not being able to search the tags.

Using sh404sef but that extension does not automatically generate canonical url's. Could you recommend something that works well?

I upgraded my system with newly released v3.0.9 Simple Image Gallery Pro and strangely my button "Simple Image Gallery Pro" link was lost.

Environment is Joomla 3.5.0/ K2 2.7.0.

I'm using button on the backend wile editing K2 items. Button is there but link is # so obviously nothing happens.

Simple image gallery seem to be functioning fine (component menu opens it) and I was also able to add manually a gallery {gallery}folder{/gallery} but I need this button for other users to work with.

Please help me.

Joomla!'s canonical links where removed (I think in 2.6.9) since the generated URL was not correct.

Did you use another extension to generate canonical URLs?

It looks like a language string is missing.
Most likely it was in K2's language files instead of the overrides, so it was overwritten.
You need to either locate that string and correct the issue or contact the template's developer.

With version 2.7.0 on menù item "K2 Categories" front show string

I'm running K2 2.6.9 and recently updated my site to joomla 3.5.0 but noticed all my K2 items are now missing the canonical url reference. Wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue and what can be done to fix.

I copied my Joomla 2.5 exactly and then upgraded it to 3. For the template there is a new version for Joomla 3 which I installed. So yes I think I've copied everything.

Here is the reply I got from the developer. These overrides for K2 were included in Gantry template, which was used as template base for Cloudbase 3. If you want to remove them go to cloudbase3/less/joomla-core.less and remove code in lines 1266-1300.

I removed the lines above and it works are expected now.

Yes you are right, mbstring (multibytes extension) is a required module.
To be honest it is present in 99% of all server setups.

I think that this is indeed a valid enhancement request that should be made in Github - github.com/getk2/k2.

However I think it should be placed in the info page instead of raising notices and warnings.

I've tracked down the issue: the PHP module mbstring wasn't functioning properly. I found this by running a diagnostic script looking for PHP modules that Joomla is dependent upon.

This just required a server reboot - so not a K2 issue. However, I wonder whether the K2 admin panel could have a check script that warns if this or other server problems are the cause for the issue?

I am not sure if this is caused by K2. I guess it is caused by a third-party extension. So try to disable some content or K2 plugins that might get triggered when the item is saved.

An other thing you could try it to disable the smart search indexing.
