1. Is it possible the URL is cached? Try clearing your Joomla cache and Internet caches

2. Are you using any SEO components? Delete and re-generate your urls?

3. Do you have a Menu Item that was pointing to K2 (Tags, Categories etc....)

4. Review Components->Redirect, try deleting or Enable/Disable generated links.

I've been using K2 as a catalog for my site. But I don't show up in google searches for any of my K2 pages. What am I doing wrong? Or does Google not recognize K2 titles as title tags?

Malheureusement, je ne pense pas qu'il y ait une communauté K2 plus active qu'ici.

Je comprends ta frustration et la partage. Il faut tout de même voir que K2 n'est pas une extension commerciale et que c'est ce qui a fait en partie son succès. Cela lui a permis de s'installer rapidement en tête des extensions de gestion de contenu.

J'avais pris l'habitude d'utiliser K2 par défaut pour tous mes projets Joomla! et en tant que développeur, je pouvais ajouter presque toutes les fonctionnalités manquantes grâce aux plugins.

D'autres outils sont maintenant présents et sont pour moi plus performants que K2 sur certains aspects.

La grosse lacune de K2 est le manque d'écoute de l'équipe de développement sur les fonctionnalités à améliorer ou à ajouter.

J'essaie de participer de mon mieux à la vie de la communauté K2, surtout la partie française mais devant le peu d'implication de l'équipe K2, je ne suis pas motivé plus que ça.

J'ai depuis quelques temps intégré d'autres communautés Joomla! qui elles sont beaucoup plus actives et plus communautaires !

for K2 start by searching the language files to see if you can find the text you want to change and change it there

you may want to look at k2multicategoires which may help you with your listings by buisness or use default tags

I am working on re-vamping my website. As of right now the new joomla installation is under a directory from the main domain. For instance: www.feedbubbles.com/joomla

K2 was installed at one time, but then uninstalled. I have nothing against K2, it's just not needed for this site.

In the meantime since K2 has been uninstalled it is really messing up some of the SEF url's in my website. For some reason my jooma menu items are.

The problem with that url is WHY in the world is k2-tags added when k2 is not installed?

I have the k2 Tools cloud on all my pages on the sidebar. From the home page, the url for any "tagged item" is home/component/k2/itemlist/tag/John%20Verse%201-12 , and the Meta Tag Title for SEO is correctly displaying the Tag Name as the web page's title.

But when a tagged item is clicked from a K2 item (it's web page), the item's title is being replaced with the site's title. The URL structure for the tags' in this situation is home//itemlist/tag/Deuteronomy%20Chapter%207

categories -> items
one -> many (unless you use the multicategory add in for k2) or (tags to simulate it)
there are also a couple of good k2 filter plugins...check the extend k2 section

I have used k2 to create a business directory. The listed companies can be categorized into multiple groupings. I applied k2 tags appropriate to the category then created a menu linking to each individual tag.

Here are the several questions

1. I had to manually create the directory menu. Is there an easier way to automatically generate a menu.

2. I want each page to show the tag appropriate to the menu selection in the top what is the best way to do this.

3. How do I display tags in each item (Show what categories they belong to)

I still can't find a solution for that.

K2 is designed for a huge number of categories, items, tags etc. But the problem is that all the features cannot be useful because Joomla CMS is based on menu items.

If you don't get the menu item link for a category - you cannot assign any different functionality for categories and pages.

Anyone found a solution for that?

Hi everyone,

I would like to remove {k2splitter} from meta description tag. It looks something like this:

When someone likes or shares my page on facebook it always displays {k2splitter} in the description - breaking the text. So it's not really nice...

Is there a way to make this disappear?

Thanks for your efforts - this will be a great addition to K2 as a lot of people look to be able to show couple of basic extra fileds in Category view and then the rest more specific extra fileds in Item view.

Please let us know how you progress and what the plugin will be called. I guess you'll upload at Joomla extensions website be it commercial or non-commercial :)

Could not help with code, but I will post if something comes to mind.

To me (and I believe many others) it is essential to be able to assign multiple extra field groups to one category and then choose one group of fields to show in Cat view and another group to show in Item view.

Right now I am trying to build a catalog.

I have Parent category and sub-catagories. All the items are in the sub-categories. So I am trying to show:

1. Items from sub-cats in Parent cat view with one extra fileds group assigned (just couple of basic extra fields)
2. Items from sub-cars in the respective sub-cats view with the above functionality
3. Items in Item view with the extended set of extra fileds from different extra field group.

Are you referring to "Default parent menu for tag listings (optional)", which is already set to NEWS.

Since today I'm using the K2 component for my website www.tasmanvakantie.nl and I must already say that K2 looks like a great content system for me, thanks for providing.

Menu-item K2 catagories and Menu-item feautured items from joomla itself
My question is about spacing between articles. When using the featured articles by joomla itself the articles are places in block with space between as you can see on the first image. On the second image is shown how it looks with K2. Is it possible to do the same here, placing those articles in blocks with some space between? And how do I make that possible?

I've tried different fora but I didn't get any answers yet. I hope this problem is commen and not that difficult. I've red documentation but really can't find out how to do this. I'm just beginning programming and I'm working hard on it to get better. Hopely someone can help me out with this
