Hi,

Is there any way to guarantee that a certain image is always displayed as the thumbnail, and the first displayed, while in single thumbnail mode?

Yes it based on the naming convention, i.e If you name one image 1.jpg and the others as 2.jpg, 3.jpg and so on... the 1.jpg will always display first at least in version 1.2 of SIG (heard that you might be able to choose this in upcoming future versions)
