I have a new Joomla 2.5 installation with SIG Pro 2.5.7.
I have used SIG PRO on another site, older version, where it works great.
I have done the following:
- Verified file location (no special chars, used cut/paste to help eliminate errors)
- Current default is ‘images/stories’
- Gallery tags: {gallery}gallery2012{/gallery}
- I moved images to other site with older version to see the images are not the issue, they worked fine
- Moved to different default image locations, currently at images/stories/gallery2012/xx.jpg
- Requested my hosting provider verify GD Images they stated it is enabled
- Verified permissions
- Verified no differences in setup between the two sites SIG Pro
- Updated Gantry, Joomla, Re-installed SIG Pro
Error message: There was a problem rendering your image gallery. Please make sure that the folder you are using in the Simple Image Gallery Pro plugin tags exists and contains valid image files. The plugin could not locate the folder: images/stories/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I was facing same problem, But Now I have solved my problem. you should follow the following steps I hope your problem will solve..

1 In Plugin manager (Simple Image Gallery Pro (by JoomlaWorks))  Root folder for image galleries should be : media/k2/galleries

I have the same problem, I am running Joomla 2.5, latest version of SIG Pro, I uninstalled the plugin folder permissions are wide open. I'd really love some help with this or advice on another solution for a gallery.

My error is "There was a problem rendering your image gallery. Please make sure that the folder you are using in the Simple Image Gallery Pro plugin tags exists and contains valid image files. The plugin could not locate the folder: media/k2/galleries/80"

Hi Curl Dont use media/k2/galleries/80, in  Root folder for image galleries plugin.  you should use the following path  :

media/k2/galleries in place of media/k2/galleries/80 ok, change this path of your plugin It will work........

Hi ravisnshukla, that error is what shows as I try to upload a gallery zip file via a K2 item.
In the plugin the directory is media/k2/galleries
I have tried a number of solutions with no luck. Thank you for the response though.

I worked out what the problem was, my compression software put the images in a folder and so SIGPro could not find the images after the uploaded zip was extracted via K2. Silly mistake made worse by me not READING the images directory.

Curlz,

Select all Images which you want to show on image gallery. and right click from mouse and go to send option and then click Compressed(zip). it will create a zip file. and then upload this zip file in k2 image gallery it will not show any error and will work properly...

Dear All,

I used to have the same issue: "There was a problem rendering your image gallery. Please make sure that the folder you are using in the Simple Image Gallery Pro plugin tags exists and contains valid image files. The plugin could not locate the folder: media/k2/galleries/1"

And I found the solution : Lot of Thanks to Curlz and Ravisnshukla (need a little bit hard work to type ur username  ;D)

These are what i did:

1. just type this word in root folder : images
2. Select all images i want to display-right_click-make a zip file.

My mistake was : creating a zip of FOLDER that containing the images, do not do it.

This error is because you upload the images .zip in K2 before configuring the plugin
Root folder for image galleries -> media/k2/galleries
If you do not do this before you will have error
To correct go to the image folder on the server: root/media/k2/galleries -> delete image folder you uploaded
Then go to the item you have upload image on k2, click on Image gallery tab, click in check-box for delete and click apply or save
Now upload zip image forder and save. That is it.

@tonicosta,
not always. This may be the solution in some cases.

I encounter the same issue... my problem came from the inability of the system (Joomla or SIG Pro, not sure yet) of recreating is cache... after a "upgrade" made with Akeeba backup / restore... I was able to use my old cache folder by re-copying it over the new one... not the most elegant solution but it worked... now I have to figure out why it happen...

Regards
