I am having problems with SIG pro in internet explorer.  the thumbnails just show up white.  i was having problems the other day with the pictures, it would freeze on a picture when you click on it and open...the first one would open, but would not go to the next. ...well i just changed the popup engine to slimbox...and it worked.

well now the thumbnails are just white in IE...if you click on a content item and then go back they will show up.  but the first time you pull up the page the thumbnails will be just white.  Can someone please help me?  I'm thinking about trying another gallery, have all kinds of problems.  ...but don't really want to.    i have SIG Pro version 1.2  Is that the newest?  i use firefox and it works fine...but in IE ..problems!  And it seems to only be doing it on this one particular content item ???

this is the site:  www.taylorandnoah.com    ??? ???

thanks in advance for any help!

hey, will you try again and see if you can see the thumbnails on the third content item on the front page?

I had moved them to the read more section so people wouldn't get the white thumbnails...i just moved them back.  they are white for me...now if they are white and you click on read more - and then go back to the front page you can see them.  but the first time you go - just white  ??? ???

thanks.

Hi!

No, your right, they are white. :( Took quite some time to load the page, might have been all the images? Are there no difference in the appearance regardless of which type of "box" you choose (lightbox/slimbox/greybox etc)?

no, i had to change the type box because one of them (not sure which one now) ...but one of them made the pictures freeze when you opened it, and it wouldn't go to the next.  but i've tried different ones...and same result.

some of the the thumbnails on the page are working  ???  but those first are just white

??

it wouldn't have anything to do with permissions if some of the galleries are working would it?

Well, we´ll have to assume that the plugin itself is ok, since you have other images displayed on the site. Are those not working placed in another folder or something like that then try to move them to a folder that works. Or empty the thumbnail cache folder and led SIG rebuild them.

Note, I´m no expert at this, I bought SIG last weekend and installed Joomla a month and a half ago...  :-[

Try this - just copy the images that are not working to another folder in images/stories, call it f.ex. testfolder. Then place the normal {gallery}-tag calling this new folder. See if it works.

The temp-files are located in images/stories/temp. I just tried on my own, live, site to erase all the temp jpg-files. Once I reloaded the page, new tempfiles where generated so I think you will not be messing things up. Make a backup if you feel unsure about this.

By the way, I really like the look of your website!

I had the same problem.

Changed all the filenames to make them web friendly with no spaces or characters other than letters, underscores, or numbers and it works fine now.

Should check your filenames in that folder you have the plugin pulling from.

Hi there and sorry for the delay!

Can you ( ctf20 ) please give me a direct link to the gallery?
Usually the white thumbs are the result of an non readable cache folder
or a conflict with some other css code.

Thank you!

okay figured it out changed permissions on the cache directory and it worked.

can someone please let me know the right permission configuration for allowing the plugin to work but not sacrificing security?

thx

Check the documentation or just use Admin Tools from www.akeebabackup.com/ to fix your permissions as they should be.
