I bought the Simple Image Pro Gallerie to insert on my site. But the galleries of images are on another server! How do I view the picture galleries of the other server on my main site?
I tried to do so:
{gallery}www.externalserver.com/pics{/gallery}
{gallery}www.externalserver.com/pics{/gallery}
But it did not work.
Please help me! I am desperate because spent 12 euros!
Thanks and sorry for my bad english. I'm brazilian.

SIG looks at a root folder and from there you put in your links to the folder in yor site. in the free version in the jwsig.php file there is a section shown below.
// root folder
$rootfolder = '/images/stories/';
at a guess you could try removing the /images/stories/ and then putting the full link in your content items as you have tried previously.
failing that the only thing i can suggest is getting a copy of the images into your folders.
hope thats of some use :)

We are using opendir function of php to scan the folder for retrieve the images.
Are you sure that you will have all the permissions that your server need
to opendir the file system of other server?
Thank you!

I'm not sure that you'll have permissions to opendir the file system of a remote server.
It's more safe to have those images at your server, otherwise you need some scripts to retrieve those images.
This remote server is yours?
Thank you!

Let's take it step by step!
First of all you need to set the file-system of your remote server able to receive an "opendir" command from a remote server.
If you now how to do that, it's ok, otherwise you need to ask your server administrator to do that.
After that will set up the "remote absolute path" in the sig Pro script.
But we need first the remote opendir!
I'm waiting your progress on this! ;)
Thank you!

I spoke with technical support from the server, but he said it is not possible to "opendir" from a remote server.
What do I do? ???

loading images off a different server is a problematic approach to things - will significantly increase loading time, and presents all types of different possible failures/issues for your users.
Can you just copy the images directory to your current host via FTP?

I did not understand your question. Please repeat.
My English is very bad.
But I can only anticipate that carry the images of my external server, as the bandwidth from my server will not bear!

Wow... I was pretty sure that it could be very difficult for your server administrator to opens the "opendir remote access"...
There aren't a lot of things we can try, I'm afraid.
I understand that you want the remote access because you don't have the bandwidth you need for those pictures in your server.
But you must understand that the thumbnails will be storage at your server.
This means that your bandwidth will be increased!
If your administrator from the remote server can give you an xml with the images of the folder we could to something!
Thank you!

But this means that someone have to write a PHP ( or ASP, JSP ) script who does that work.
I'm afraid this is totally a custom work...

I am not going to do this.
The JW should do a version of SIG to serve for external images.
It is a flaw can not do this.
I paid the PRO version, but I will not enjoy it.
Pity... :(

I'm afraid it's a bit difficult to release a "remote server" version
because there are to many restricts from the side of the remote server!
We can do a hach to the code to read the image files from an xml of the remote server.
Thank you!

Have I found the solution: I moved to the JCE Editor. The editor is free, but the feature to highlight is paid. Is more lower than the 20 euros charged in JoomlaWorks.
The publisher's site is www.joomlacontenteditor.net/
My site is www.coroascaseiras.net (only 18+)
Thanks for the support Vinikey!
