Article Title vs. Caption/Label was created by jethrodesign
Hello, we're looking into this extension to help with some galleries on a site we're working on. There's just a little confusion that I was hoping to clear up:

- What is the difference between what appears to be the default behavior of the pop-up galleries picking up and displaying the title of the article they are located within, and the captioning/labeling that is talked about (though only shown on the thumbnails in the demo)?

We really need a solution that is not forcing a lot of manual work when information is already included in the database. Our client will need to be able to intuitively add galleries all the time. We will have multiple articles on a page (reviews of recent events) that each need to have a single thumbnail that launches a gallery of images for that event. And we would prefer just a simple title for the gallery that could easily be the same as the title of the article it is in (no extra markup necessary in the article).

It appears that this is the "You are browsing images from the article:..." part. We would prefer something like that to happen automatically based on the title of the article, although without the whole "You are browsing..." part.

- Is this default behavior?

If that is default, then what happens when you add the text file with captions for certain individual images?

- Can you have additional captions/labels on a per-image basis underneath the default article title?

Ultimately, we would love to be able to add custom captions on images when necessary, but will always need a title that matches the title of the article it is in for clarity. It's not clear in the demo how this works.

THANKS!

Hi, sorry to bring it up again, but someone who has worked with this pug-in has to know how the default behavior works.

We need to make a decision soon, and the developer we are working with says that they have used this in the past and there had to be a lot of manual hard-coding to get titles & descriptions to work. If this is true, it would not be intuitive for our end client who will eventually be doing all of the work (if it was just us doing it, we wouldn't care so much).

If the end client would only need to learn the <gallery>name of folder</gallery> thing for the thumbnail image (which will be in the same place in each article) that may be OK. But if they have to do other coding to get titles to happen, it may be too complex.

The developers were saying it didn't pick up any of the default Joomla titles, descriptions, etc. So it would possibly be double the work. So they are moving forward with another solution, but this just looks closer to what we were hoping for at it's default.

And is there a post or tutorial that outlines the process of adding the photos? Is this also outside of the default Joomla behavior for adding photos to a site?

THANKS!
