SIG Pro does not generate labels.txt file if you use it for K2. Only if you use it the old way with the tags the file is generated automatically. You need to put the file manually to the path of each gallery in media/k2/galleries/gallery item id/

No. The directory will be created once you upload a K2 gallery to the item. The folder name will be the item's id.

sorry for being a newbie but thats not the case for me. it hasnt created any directory. but now all of a sudden the labels.txt file was generated in the original media folder;

images/stories/myfolder.

i modify the the labels.txt file and save it. filezilla saves it in /media/k2/galleries but no gallery item id directory was created and the modifications i made on the labels.txt file are not reflected on the frontend.

im doing something wrong right?

ok, this is where i am currently at;

1-the labels.txt file that SIG pro generated in the original media directory is in ansi file format.

2-when i edit the file and save it as a utf 8 file filezilla saves it in /media/k2/galleries. it seems that k2 is not creating the galery item id directory.

3-if i try to save the modified labels.txt file as an ansi i get permission denied error.

:(

Did you upload a zip file to a K2 item at the image gallery tab? If yes, when you open the file do you see the thumbnails at that tab? If not, check the permissions on your media folder. When a gallery is uploaded correctly, in media/k2/galleries/i.e.34, you will find your images.

ok i started from scratch using the image gallery tab and successfully uploaded a zip with 4 images.

created labels.txt file.
the first image doesnt show any caption while the other three do.

why is that?

is this the only way to use SIG Pro with K2 or can i embed into item which was i was doing earlier with {gallery}myfolder{/gallery}??

thx so far u have been really helpful :)

what could be the reason for the first image not to have a caption?

Check the file not to have any spaces before the first image declaration.
You can use the tags to load a gallery, but you will have to upload your images manually at images/stories/ folder.

If you use the tags inside the text, then you should put it in images/stories/.... If you use K2 image gallery in media/k2/galleries/...

What do you mean only 2 of 4 images show tags? To use the tag mechanism you just use {gallery}folder in images stories{/gallery} inside the text (introtext or fulltext).

im sorry i worded it wrong. i mean that only 2 of the 4 images show captions. the first image and the last image for some odd reason do not show any captions. this is the labels.txt;

1bisbitaalicantecampeones.jpg|Campeonato Nacional|Campeones Bisbita Alicante
2bareostrummadridsubcampeones.jpg|Campeonato Nacional|Subcampeones Bare Nostrum Madrid
3jymmysbarcelona3clasificado.jpg|Campeonato Nacional|3º Jymmys Barcelona
4barenostrumlacentralmadrid4clasificados|Campeonato Nacional|4º Bare Nostrum La Central Madrid

but for some reason the captions are not being generated for the 1st and 4th image. through firebug i see that the code for the images with no captions are lacking the labels.

<span class="sig-pseudo-caption">
      <b></b>
</span>
<span class="sig-caption" title=""></span>

??? ???

ok, latest attempt was getting rid of one image. so i reduced number of images from 4 to 3 and it still doesnt matter the first image always loses its caption regardless what image it is.

any help... :'(

Hi,

I saw the same behaviour - the first pic doesn't have a caption. As a workaround I put a line feed (line break) at the beginning of the labels.txt. Annoying, but it helps.
