Internet Explorer problem with RSS Feed was created by Michael Slade
JoomlaWorks 'Simple RSS Feed Reader' Module v3.0; Joomla 2.5.20 , default layout works fine with Firefox 29.0.1 but gives weird extra box like object after date on feeds which don't contain image.

See NCJW Insider feed on lower left of page ncjwgrs.org/j25/ when using Internet Explorer 9 using Vista, Xp, etc..

Any ideas?

thanks

Hi. All of them have an image. The issue is that the service used for resizing them seems to have problem. Try to set "Image handling (within feed item description)" to "Extract first image only, resize it using HTML, hide others". Finally you need to check your template's CSS for the extra spacing there. The default CSS of the module is only adding 4 pixels margin at the top and the bottom of the image.

Hmm-

First, thanks for the rapid reply!

I've changed the news feed image setting as suggested with no apparent difference.

What is likely to be the module css file name that I should be hunting down?

thanks again!

The css file is ncjwgrs.org/j25/modules/mod_jw_srfr/tmpl/default/css/template.css . As you will see it contains very basic styles. If you need to change that file remember to make an override and not change the core file.
