Hi
Thanks for reply. But I still can't solve the problem of time limits.
I still get:
Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in ....../administrator/components/com_k2/lib/class.upload.php on line 4497
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /......../libraries/joomla/session/storage/database.php on line 82

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /......./libraries/joomla/session/storage/database.php on line 51

In line 4497 I have something like this: } else if ($pixel > 0) {
What else should I do?

If anyone has an idea how to fix it?

Martin Christiansen said:Oh yea.. I see it was left out in my previous comment :) Right after the first line with the PHP tag, I added a new line with this code: ini_set("max_execution_time", 360);
So basically my first 4 lines look like below. Hope this helps... (remember to add the question mark in the PHP tag in the first line
< php
ini_set("max_execution_time", 360);

Is it possible to import a date of creation field?
I have to import a calendar of about 500 items with the date so I can use K2 as my calendar

At the moment this is not possible, the software takes always the actual date as the creation date. But I can insert this function into the next release.

Thanks for the tool, but I really need the date import feature too, I have about 250 items with different dates and I don't want to have to go through and change them all, this feature would be great, thanks

Just a question here. On the csv file you can add extra fields. What about field groups. I have two fields with the same name, but with different field groups. How do I add these on the csv file.

the association to the field-groups depends on the category-configuration
If you have two extra-fields with the same name, the value should be associated to the one that is connected to the category you import.
In the actual version you have also the possibility to import into different categories.

Arthur--

Please see my posting in the Developer Discussion--

I am looking for a front-end app to connect with a back-end database. Can you design something like this for me? It would then work with your .csv import tool!

Hi,
I think this is possible and a cool Idea. But at the moment I don't have time for that. Are you going to pay for the work? I could try to find a developer for it.

Yes... of course it is a compensated job-- not a freebie! I just want to confirm that such function and capability does not already exist. It needs to write the data to the databases, and be able to select and connect (match) the data for different searches when connecting social networking members with the same interests, or offering them specific merchandise commensurate with their specified interests.

Ok I replied your discussion in the developer thread, lets talk about it there.
And I published it on twitter: twitter.com/individualit
Maybe somebody is interested in the job.

After long time there is a new version of the K2 import tool. And now it's not just an import tool, it has also an EXPORT function. All fields except images are exported.

And there are more new features:
- categories cold be taken from the CSV file
- galleries could be imported
- you can import all images / attachments and galleries from one ZIP file - just put everything together with the CSV file in an ZIP archive
- overwrite function (the importer try to find existing items an overwrite them instead of creating new)
- some small changes and fixes

Thanks....put it in blog post!

The "trying to find existing items" code should prove interesting

I just wrote a blog post, it's waiting for approval. The overwrite function (trying to find existing items) is working at the moment based on the title, the next step will be to let the user choose how it should work - based on title or based on the alias. more ideas are welcome.

P.S. it would be very helpful if people would vote for it, or write a review: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/k2-extensions/12408

Thank you for your effort! But what about those that have already paid for a previous version? I suppose they have to pay it once more... Artur Neumann said:

Sorry but at the moment I don't have an update plan. If you have good ideas how I could organize a nice update plan please post them. I like my "you can pay as much as you like" plan and I hope the people like it too.

What price is good for an update-including-plan?

If somebody got the old version during the last days he should also got the 0.6RC4 version. Then he don't need the 0.6 stable - there are no significant changes between 0.6RC4 and 0.6 stable.
