Same problem here. The K2 Upgrade kept failing so I manually downloaded 2.6 and installed it. Now I'm getting this same error message.

Just used the update function within the Joomla CP to upgrade from a fresh install of Joomla and got the same error message.

Thoughts on what is causing the error in the first place?

Get the same problem after Upgrade with JUpgrade from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5!! Then install k2 Version K2_v2.5.7, because there wasnt the Component.
Solution: I've copied the files from K2_v2.5.6 in the folder and it works!!

solved - can't change author & other backend edits

Category: English K2 Community

I finally found why some of my K2 sites would not allow author change, why the modal would load in a new window, why I could not change access level. The database is corrupt for K2 users. You must refer to your Joomla User Manager for each user details needed below.

This fix requires database access.

Locate your table #prefix_k2_user

Delete any blank user creations

Edit the Super User. Mine was set as Administrator with a 62 userID - obviously a leftover from an upgrade. In my case, I edited it to be Super User, userID 42, image NULL, group 1
Enter other users in same fashion

Check backend K2 User and Groups

Test Item edits. All should be functioning properly. :cheer:

Changing language doesn't work

Category: English K2 Community

Thanks for your reply.
It's the interface that stays English even though I have installed the Swedish language files.
But there's something really weird going on. I am beginning to believe that there must be some error in my imported K2-tables. I am upgrading from 1.5 to 2.5 and the first attempt to do it via JUpgrade didn't work, so I imported each K2-table into a Joomla 2.5 installation (with editing of some of the tables). Everything works in the new website, except the language interface.
Yesterday I made another Joomla 2.5 installation where the language interface works, so it has to be something with the imported db-tables. I realize now that it has nothing to do with K2. I'll check the db tables further.

I will post my findings here if I find anything that may be of use for someone else.

Can't install K2 translate into Portuguese - PT

Category: English K2 Community

Hello,

I've just upgraded K2 to version 2.5.7 and installed K2 translate to Portuguese - PT.

Even though I have my Joomla 1.5.26 in both english en-GB and Portuguese pt-PT (Administrator and Site) when I try to install K2 translate in Portuguese I get the error

Language Install: No core pack exists for the language :pt

Therefore, my site is now totally f...'d up!

I've manually uploaded the translation files to administrator/language and /language but nothing seems to work.

It seems like a nightmare that now I'm depending on this component and can't get back to core joomla content... Or, is there a way to migrate K2 content back to Joomla?

Please help!

Thanks

Thanks for the information, but one of the things I like the most about K2 is how you made it easy for us to override templates and add plugins to prevent us from hacking it so future upgrades are easier. So I would rather leave K2 stock and just switch my database to a more standard MySQL installation. I see this as more of a flaw on their side, not yours, you are using standard MySQL features.

Keep up the good work! B)

export Articels Joomla 1.5 import to K2.5 with K2

Category: English K2 Community

Hi Said,

Upgrade your Joomla site to 1.5.26 and then you will have to migrate it to Joomla 2.5. Once done you can then import your Joomla articles into K2. Make sure you are always running the latest versions of both Joomla and K2.

Can't upload images after upgrade

Category: Simple Image Gallery PRO

This error is because you upload the images .zip in K2 before configuring the plugin
Root folder for image galleries -> media/k2/galleries
If you do not do this before you will have error
To correct go to the image folder on the server: root/media/k2/galleries -> delete image folder you uploaded
Then go to the item you have upload image on k2, click on Image gallery tab, click in check-box for delete and click apply or save
Now upload zip image forder and save. That is it.

Upgrade error

Category: English K2 Community

hi there,

I have upgraded Joomla from 1.5 to 2.5
and
I have upgraded K2 from K2 v2.4.1 to K2 v2.5.7

The upgrade has been successful apart from my K2 search filter which displays items based on tag.

I get the following error:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /public_html/jupgrade/modules/mod_k2_content_tag/mod_k2_content_tag.php on line 45

Can anybody help me please?

thank you

Try to disable the "Smart -Search K2" plugins. Have you made an upgrade from Joomla! 1.5 or this was a clean installation of 2.5?

Fatal error: Call to a member function load

Category: English K2 Community

Recently upgraded www.suffolkbasketball.net to Joomla! 2.5 running K2
Everything has been fine until today when I try to access the site I get:

Fatal error: Call to a member function load() on a non-object in /home/suffolk/public_html/components/com_k2/views/itemlist/view.html.php on line 40

line 40 loads the category id ( $category->load($id); )

When I try to access the site's backend admin area I get a 404 page not found error. My host tells me PHP is working normally, I can access files via FTP & cPanel.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the thread and post.

I modified /administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_k2.j16.ini and it all worked fine

What will happen to this file when I upgrade K2?

Is this the best way to override the date value?

Thanks! -- Steven

Assign modules to K2 Items through Menu Items

Category: English K2 Community

Hello all !

I am trying to assign modules to specific K2 items and K2 categories.

I know Advanced Modules Manager can do it, but I don't want to upgrade my php version.

I have read on other boards about a 'workaround' - creating menu items linked to k2 items, and then assigning the modules to those menu items.

I've tried doing it, but have failed. Can someone describe the method in detail ? Or point me in the right direction.

Thanks !
