I just upgraded to Joomla 1.5.20 and using K2 version 2.2Everything was working fine with K2 and printing, but now if you click on the print button, the same page comes up underneath with an iframe on the top with the print content.I enabled the mootools 1.2 upgrade plugin included with 1.5.20 and the print works fine.I don't want to enable this plugin because I am using RockStories from Rocket theme and it will not work with the plugin enabled.Anybody experiencing same issue?  The site is sunholidaytours.com  just choose a trip and click on the print button on the top right of the page. I was banging my thumbs for the past few hours looking for a reason why I could not upload a .zip file using K2 and SIGPRO. I tried all solutions on the forums: changing /administrator/lib/ file solution (found here and on K2 forum), changing /media/k2 folder permissions to 777 (currently set back to 755), unistall/reinstall the SIGPRO plugin, etc. None of these seemed to solve the issue for me as I kept getting the:
* UNKNOWNARCHIVETYPE * Gallery upload error: Cannot extract archive! error.

About 2 weeks ago I recall Firefox automatically upgraded to the newset version. After reading this last suggestion to try another browser, I logged out of admin in Firefox, logged in with another browser (Safari 5.0), clicked on the item created with Firefox and uploaded my .zip file. Success!

Incidently, I had previously noticed that the modified date of an item would be a strange November, 1, 1999. One of those small issues I put to the side to tackle one day. Using Safari cured this problem as well as the item now correctly reflects the modified date/time.

Looks like I will be using Safari to upload items from now on...or at least until the next Firefox update. Hope this helps. 

This is not to criticize K2 but hopefully for K2 to advance. I come from Drupal and decided for a certain client to try Joomla . When I saw the downfall of Joomla menu structure compared to K2 that stated "the Drupal CCK" version in Joomla hey let's go for it. OK it's been tough but worked things out UNTIL TAGS (is this suppose to be a version of Taxonomy?). I've been at TAGS for the past week and read reread every imaginable possibilty. Simon says do this but it doesn't work since, I figured, he is using a different version I'm on 2.3. For instance your sense of TAGS with related items by TAG just doesn't work and I've seen plenty of complaints. OK I agree that certain users don't need TAGS in simple websites but if I have to create a site that gets pretty complicated then K2 falls apart with TAGS since this is the heart of my website. And if there are answers as to why don't you buy an extension, I've been screwed too many times to tell my client the company doesn't exist any longer or there are no upgrades. Long story short "...tags are our index to a harmonized website...."

I have to disagree - I find great potential in using K2 as a video directory from my initial tests. Currently all our sites are using Seryet but it's cumbersome and really we want the flexibility of using videos in content as well as a directory and contain it to admins usage (note: not talking a social video type directory).

So what I've done is made a copy of the default template, called it video and set my main video category(s) to use that template, turned off the things I don't want to show (author, etc.) and re arranged the template files so that video is up where the main picture would normally be text beside it, use the main image only for category and module areas. Now using the K2content module you can set up your latest, most viewed etc. type models to show only from videos - add them to a tab set up (Tabs sliders works) using modules anywhere in a content page and you got a pretty good set up that gives you more flexibility than some video systems.

For instance, I could create an new text area extra field called "advertisement" and have an ad appear below the video area by dumping our add code there - with seryet I'm locked into the single page call so the advertising code would be the same on all video pages instead of "I want this add to appear with this video".

The only big if for us is the flexibility of the video player. I haven't got to it yet but if the player can be replaced or upgraded to truly use more professional features of at least the JW player then we're set. We need the google analytics plug-in, we need advertising plug-in, we need the extras offered by other plug ins to truly make it all work.

IF anyone had instructions on how to upgrade the player with these features (the player swf I can upgrade it's the code plug in that needs the implementation) please feel free to share your knowledge.

Just to expand on Oliviers great support.

You might want to consider creating a k2 template over ride instead of modifying the main k2 css file. That way, if you upgrade K2 later, you would loose your changes.
Details of setting up a K2 template can be found in the guides on simon.getk2.org.

You say you added that border css, but what did you add it to and which part do you need to have a border on?

I would like to suggest that if you are using FireFox, you get the add on called FireBug, as it will all you to inspect the page and see any css element, which will help identify it and which file to modify.

Update: I have discovered that the frontend editing window was indeed opening in a modal window. However, it was so large, that I couldn't see that this was the case. I changed the code as posted here and the modal window opens in a reasonable size in all 3 browsers that I mentioned. Should the modal window close when I save the edits? I receive a message stating that the item has been saved, but the modal window stays open. I have to close the window manually and then refresh the page to see my updated item. Is this the expected behavior?

thanks i solved that, i needed to show more words in module :) but just onother question, is it possible to show in module introtext source text formating? it just get all words and show in one big text and it is hardly redable.

no i do not use subtemplates, i just started few days before, please look at loriflame.lv, k2 is under first meny jaunumi/zinas. just upgrading, site in development, i publish for few days.

Hi, today' upgraded from 2,2 to 2.3. It was difficult to replicate all changes what i did before, but i managed. One think comlitely mess my mind.I use k2 content module like front page latest news show (see picture). Before upgrade all was ok, i needed just make image left position and right space.Now k2ItemsBlock do not expands around smal image (but all is ok when i choose xsmal image), and read more and coment fields flies below the text, but i need them at bottom of container, like it was before. because when there is no picture then read more and comments flies to left, and it mess layout .Please help me i am comlitely stack with this. i tried to change all possible parameters but no result.

Upgraded to K2 version 2.3 and problem has gone!? I'm not complaining... :)

OK having just installed sh404sef on my site, which I have also only recently upgraded to the latest K2 component, I am now quite thoroughly confused!

It is clear the sh404sef does not recognise K2 natively. The only way I can get proper titles and descriptions is by adding them manually, which is a pain. Am I to understand from this that I should not be using the sh404sef plugin because all the functionality is provided via K2 and I am wasting my time, or does sh404sef do things better in any areas?

Make sure you have an author for this item in the parameter of the item in the backend.

It seems your item author information or your K2 core files are corrupted. Maybe a new upgrade would correct that.
