Thanks Alen,

I made sure all of my users belonged to a K2 category and then cleared the Joomla cache and they were gone. I don't know if this will help anyone else but I had transfered alot of those users with SP Upgrade from a Joomla 1.5 site so I just opened then and saved them again and that seem to do the trick.

Cheers

Marvelous.. it is working now but like all the things made with such a speed an error corrected is generating an other, but in this case is not as important.

With the new build of K2 all the errors i have encontered were corrected but now on backend if you are entering the on K2 Parameters and trying to exit without modifications with Cancel you get a An error has occurred. 404 Component not found message.

Sorry to bother you but with your support I am now very happy to upgrade to Joomla 3.2 my sites.

If you are using Joomla! 3.2 please upgrade to the SVN version.
You can find the link here: getk2.org/assets/get/

Language problem after upgrade to Joomla 3.2

Category: English K2 Community

This was exactly what happened when I began this upgrading: The 3.1.5 version announced that there were 2 upgrades. Joomla 3.2 and the Swedish language files. I upgraded both but the English expressions did not change into Swedish.

But I think I know what may be the problem: It worked when I created an override for K2_PRINT in Swedish:

Attachment not found

When I check the translation at transifex.com I discovered that K2_PRINT is translated into "Skriv ut".

So my conclusion is that the K2 language fles that I downloaded yesterday from getk2.org are not reliable. How often do they pull the language files from transifex.org?

Best regards

Language problem after upgrade to Joomla 3.2

Category: English K2 Community

Hi Mats,
Thats strange because I upgraded to 3.2.0 today and direct I got a new update in my update list for extensions and one was from the Swedish Joomla team. I installed the update and all my "Print" was changed to "Skriv ut" in K2.

Thanks for the reply.
But it didn't solve my problem.
I have installed both the sv-SE language pack for Joomla 3.2 (release Nov 6, 2013) and the latest K2 language files from their website today. But still the English expressions hang on in spite of a Swedish GUI:

So there must be some part of the files that has been altered in the upgrade. But where?

Best regards

I didn't uninstall nor deactivate K2 !
jUpgrade copied all K2 data (db + images), but the component itself was not visible in the Joomla's component menu nor in the installed extensions. That's why I had to reinstall it. This kept (thankfully) all migrated data !

Actually there was no need to remove K2, you could have upgraded using jUpgrade with K2 enabled.

Other than that, well done.

The asterisk is there in the newest versions, that is why I said you didn't need to unistall K2.

Great !!!! It worked. Not perfectly. But most stuff are there. The language field gave a problem that I solved manually(*).

For anyone interested, the exact procedure I used is :

1) Take a copy of my prod site

2) Update all the extensions I could, deactivate the tiny ones without J!2.5 equivalent or that should be migrated or that I could easily re-install and reconfigure on the J!2.5 site

3) With AdminTool, run all their cleaning actions

4) Check in my DB (with phpMyAdmin) if I had no unused tables (eg tables from old extensions) and drop them

5) install and run jUpgrade (and not jUpgradePro)

6) I had to remove some other extensions because jUpgrade got stuck

At this stage the we have a J!2.5 site. The next actions will be in this new site.

6) Install extensions (and K2 extension)
7) With phpMyAdmin check every K2 tables if their items have a "language" field. If yes and if empty, update them with "*".

8.) Check all menus pointing to k2 items. Actually, I dropped them and recreate them.

Voilà. That's almost it.

Next steps are templates (and K2 templates) migration.

What about setting a default value for that field in the MySQL tables in the next K2 release ?

Create a dev site so even if it breaks that won't be an issue.

Deactivate all extensions apart from K2 and the ones that support J! 2.5 or 3.1.
Update all these extensions to their latest version.
Use the jUpgrade method or Admin Tools to upgrade your installation.

Now you will have a Joomla! 2.5 site, proceed again with the same procedure to upgrade to 3.1 if you wish.

At this point since you only have a light/bare Joomla!/K2 installation and it should be completely functional in the backend. (I do not know about the template).\

All you need to do is some trial and error... Activate all other extensions one by one and the ones that are crashing your site need to be reinstalled.

Again... do this on your dev site.

K2 Migration to Joomla 3 category issue

Category: English K2 Community

Hi,

That is what I did a clean Joomla 3 with K2 and then migrated the tables using spUpgrade.

But the category page is not working properly. Why would the parameters be different for one item compared to another item in the same category, like Show Title? The aren't different on the Joomla 1.5 K2 site.
