Joomla keywords to K2 keywords - merging tags

Hi,
I have almost 700 articles, each of them has its own keywords. After import the joomla content to K2 all keywords became tags. Now I have over 3000 tags, many of them are duplicated. Searching by tags is not working well etc.
How to import Joomla's keywords to keywords in K2 items (no to tags)?
Is there a simple a solution to unify tags after creation?

The problem is fixed now. That K2 Category has footer menu . in Footer menu must leave meta data empty others it will overwrite meta data in item and catagory in K2.

Hello Santosh,

The related items are based on their common tags. Items on the same category, content-wise tend to have more common tags. This is why you get items based on the same category.

In order to change the functionality you either need a 3rd party extension, or you can publish a K2 Content module in the item and based on the menu item (different module each time) assign which categories you want the module to pull items from.

Hello,

I recognized differences on the tag-page, depending if you selected it from the top-category or a sub-category.

From top-category:
Page-Title:
[tag]
H2:
Tag: [tag] (number)

From sub-category:
Page-Title:
Category: [sub-category you started from]
H2:
Tag: Category: [sub-category you started from] (number)

Actually I would always like to have the variant from the top.-category.

In the tag.php-template I used this code from the default-template of k2:

- You can get the item's direct category ($item->category->name, $item->category->link, $item->category->link), you can construct a manual link based on the category, but with K2's advanced SEF, I do not think this is needed.

- Unfortunately sorting the items per category is only available if you map
that tag into a menu item.

You can edit the tag.php file and based on the category hide the item but this will lead into inconsistent layouts.

je suis sur la dernière version de k2 et joomla.

Les options social share devraient remontent sur mon article sauf celle de facebook.
J'ai vérifié les paramètres. Tous les voyants sont au vert.

Did you enable K2's advanced SEF?
This will create the new pattern.

If that does not work for you, you can manually alter the link where the tags appear (item.php, category_item.php etc ) in order to build a manual link.

As far as I can see this only answer my third question, does it?

I created a K2-Category-Menuitem without any category selected. Then blicked on a tag but the itemlink was still the long one - what else do I have to setup?

What about the other two questions?

You can use K2's advanced SEF to create a new pattern for tag URLs.
You can then, create an empty K2 Categories menu item and call it eg: content.
This will create a /content/tag/tag-name pattern.

This will be a new pattern but you won't have to manually manipulate each link.

If you want to build a manual pattern based on the current category, you need to edit the item.php file (and the category_item.php file if the tags are shown in the category) and based on the item's category id build the link manually.

Hi There,

I've just created a new blog using Joomla 3.x and K2 Tools.

Also I've added a Tag Cloud which looks great... but when clicking on the Tag Cloud, an empty page appears. Empty in the meaning of "no conent" not linke "white page".

Do I need to add any additional "thing" or configure anything different? Maybe you can ask the right questions so that I can provide you with the relevant information.

Hi
I have a site that is still in the very early stags of building and i am using a template. This has filler content using Joomla articles. I want to replace them all with my content using K2 articles.

Can someone tell me the basic sequence?

1 create the K2 article - i can do that

2 create a K2 category - i can do that - add article from step 1 in to the category

3 Get said article on to the frontage - not a clue!!!

Thanks Joe,

It's always seemed odd to me that K2 didn't have the ability to select multiple tags at once. That's inherent in how you set them, it should be just as fluid to get them.

Hello,

iam trying to call some Specific ExtraFields to show in my Category_item.php

First of all i create an array:
<?php $extraFld = array(); if ($item->extra_fields) { $extraFields = json_decode($item->extra_fields, false); foreach ($extraFields as $key=>$extraField) { $extraFld[ $extraField->id ] = $extraField->value; } } ?>

than i try to call out one specific position. to show right after my Title with:
<?php echo $extraFld[4]; ?>

for exaple

Title of Category
<extrafield>
Author of Category
..


it does not work... in tag.php everything works just fine.
And yes i have activated ExtraField in category options.

You can enter your own keywords to disable the default ones.

The keywords are populated by the tags you enter, if the keywords are left blank.

Hi all. I noticed such a thing. Tags K2 will automatically enter the meta keywords of the document. In the document they do not show. But when material is published that the keywords contained in the html document

Is it possible to provide a category and tag list filter by providing a way to add parameters to the URL?

Category Example:

domain.com/cars?tag=toyota
This list page would only display items from the category "Cars" with the tag "Toyota"

Tag Example:

domain.com/tag/trucks?category=ford
This list page would only display items with the tag "Trucks" from the category "Toyota"


Note: such a feature could be integrated into the K2 Tools Module (List Filter Select Menu) to offers a simple filter dropdown UI :)
