Hello guys! I'd really appreciate your help with the following.

I have a big news website (fup.org.br) that uses K2 as its article system. Uploaded to latest version in the last days.

Initially, I was having problems with twitter cards, that's why I updated the K2 version. With the update, problem solved! But after that, my client started saying that the links shared in Whatsapp were not displaying the picture in rich link anymore. That's where my odissey started.

I tried changed all the image sizes in K2 configuration, tried changing width of the sizes, tried using other meta tags plugins... everything that I could, with no results.

After a lot of research, I found and edited the view.html.php file, including the tags as the picture shows:




After all this, I have two questions:

1 - I still have problems in iOS. Even checking some articles in tools such as metatags.io and facebook debugger (showing the meta information correctly), all social networks work well, except for Whatsapp in iOS, that shows a loading circle when I paste the link, but after that the loading image goes away, and only title and description stay in the rich link.

2 - After some research, I checked another additional properties that can make part of the meta tags, such as og:image:url, og:image:secure_url, og:image:width, and og:image:height. I included them via code in view.html.php (Capturar2.JPG), but in the front-end, they appear listed as <"meta name:"xxxxx"> and not <meta property:"xxxxx"> (Capturar.JPG). Do this make any difference? And how could I change this "name" to "property", since they are written just the same way in the php code?

Without knowing the actual file the error occurs in, it's really difficult to troubleshoot the issue...

The image size for the generic views (tag, search & date listings) is controlled through the K2 Settings (first tab).

Is it possible to assign multiple tag in a menu? At the moment we can just assign in the k22_module multiple tags, correct?

Does the error occur within the context of one of the modules? An SQL error would also occur if some plugin modifies the queries on-the-fly...

I have a problem with the size of the images of the articles when they are visualized using the k2 tools modules and I don't see a way to solve it. Since if I visualize the article in a normal way there is no problem, it is when I use the calendar tools module, tags and others when they are not visualized well.

b) I am using RAXO, K2 Filter and CComments, but I have tried disabling one by one a testing and the problem still continue.

a) What's your MySQL version?
b) Are you using any third-party extensions with K2? E.g. some multi-categorization extension for K2?

I am having this error when trying to open K2 tag pages:
Error: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND t.published = 1' at line 4

The error is intermittently and just occurs when use the browser in Incognito Mode. The problem is causing Google crawl problems affecting our SEO.
I have read the forum and checked similar issues, so I have disabled some plugins and modules, but the problem still continue.

Any idea?

One option is to check if a Flickr URL is used in the item's media data and if so, reset the relevant OG image tag.

A better option is to create a K2 plugin that dynamically swaps all $item->image or $this->item->image instances with the Flickr image URL. This will essentially have everything else work just as they do already with uploaded images in K2 items, across component AND module views.

Got yet another query for you. Due to the number of articles and images used on our clients site, we have helped them to move to a new method of embedding them in from Flickr which has been working great for them as it's giving them a better backend management and allowing them to reuse images easier.

We would like to be able to use a Flickr image for the main K2 image which isn't possible in the main image tab. In the Media tab though there is the option to select Flickr and input a url or to just add the embed code in. We had used the embed code so that we could then also add in title and alt tag info. When using the media tab for the images though, it doesn't generate the correct og tags, so there is no image there when sharing on social media.

Can you tell me if I am missing something or if that is correct behaviour and it's not meant to generate the tags using the media info?

Estoy intentando mostrar todos los items de la misma categoría del item que estoy viendo. He probado a modificar el archivo item.php, también con K2 content, pero solo me permiten seleccionar una categoría concreta, yo necesito que la consulta solo filtre los items de la categoría actual.

Por ejemplo... si estoy viendo el detalle del "item 1", que pertenece a la categoría "Cat 1", solo quiero recuperar los items que pertenezcan también a esta categoría.

Es similar a mostrar artículos relacionados, pero no por Tag o title, solo por categoría.

There is an option in the K2 Settings (advanced tab) for that. It was added in K2 v2.10.3.

Olá, só uma dúvida. Tentei fazer o K2 listar 500 itens por página (Contagem de itens principais) mas ficam no máximo 100 no site. Ajustei também nas configurações do Joomla, e não resolveu. Uso o template Helix 3. Ocorreu alguma mudança no K2? Isso é limite do servidor?

K2 already provides the necessary OpenGraph (and other) meta tags for social sharing. However LinkedIn may prefer to crawl your content first. Are you uploading the main item image via the K2 image tab?

I found out, that it was the problem with the menu item. I had create a "tag" view, not a "category" view. That was the issue.

Weird Urls are still available, but now the canonical works.
