Hi Simone,
I think you can do it the way you mentioned, you just have to click the readmore button after you have added the image & the text you want to show in cat view. You may have to check in K2 parameters that the img tag is not being stripped. in cat view.

Is there a way to limit tag display of itemlists to within a set of categories?
Imagine a blog with tags as part of your K2 content - you only want to see tag listings from stuff in your blog, not the rest of your site.

SO when you click a tag on 'htc phones' you dont get items listings from another section of content which might be about your organization or recipes of the day.

I can see how you can pass a category id in the tag cloud module and adjust the itemlist model for tags. However this doesnt play nice with sef nor does it solve the larger issue of what items to show if you want it limited by multiple categories

Anyone have this itch?

There is a problem in sh404 with duplicates and K2 tags and the context in which they are viewed. It's not a bug really but a problem of meaning that sh404 doesn't distinguish or simply can't

K2 tags links have contextual display when non sef / sh404
By contextual I mean the active menu Itemid and therefore, from a user point of view, the section of the site you are in.

For example:
Menu item 'publications' has an Itemid 212
http://domain/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&layout=category&task=category&id=43&Itemid=212

When you click an item tag link to a tag, eg named "Conflict" on this page, it will resolve to Itemid 212
eg: index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=tag&tag=Conflict&Itemid=212

Menu item 'Our Work' gets an Itemid of 184
domain/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=163:conservation-agriculture-project-care-sierra-leone&Itemid=184

A tag link to a tag name "Conflict" on this page will resolve to Itemid 184
eg:http://domain/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=tag&tag=Conflict&Itemid=184


Turn on sh404 and you only get one tag link for "conflict"
domain/tag/conflict

sh404 will store duplicates with the different context of each url above but this means sh404 is forcing you to choose one when actually bot are valid

Unfortunately this means sh404 fails to keep the context of where a K2 tag is being viewed.

One option is to turn on the menu item id append which will add an item id to the url - but this defeats the whole purpose of using a URL Manager.

Another option is to manually make specific urls for every tag in the different contexts. Eg I can take the two urls above and make custom urls like:
our-work/theme/conflict
publications/theme/conflict

To fully realise the work involved in this you can multiply the number of tags by the number of categories
So if you have 60 tags and 10 categories you can go and make 600 custom urls to deal with the issue. This is just not a sustainable option to me.

Is there another solution from the K2 side?

 Introtext HTML cleanup (tag strip) & Fulltext HTML cleanup (tag strip) are both set to No, then refresh both your sites site & browser cache.

iao a tutti.


Dopo tre giorni che cerco di capire cosa c'è che non va ho deciso di scrivere sul forum. Premetto che mi sono guardato tutti i video tutorial della portale e che c'è in rete, (mi sono smazzato tutta la documentazione di K2), ma non sono riuscito a risolvere il problema.


Semplicemte joomla versione 2.5.6 con k2 versione 2.6.2 e plugin Allvideos.
Ho provato sia con Allvideos che senza e Allvideos l'ho attivato nelle impostazioni del plugin.


Inserisco i video all'interno degli items, setto correttamente come spiegato in rete su media (poi setto la sotto sezione) use online video service con youtube e il video ID. Nel sezione content aggiungo il tag :

{youtube}IuSejjIrW6c{/youtube}


Salvo vado nel frontend lui mi crea lo spazio del video ma non visualizza nulla. Ovviamente nel backend sezione video del item io il video lo vedo e riesco a visualizzarlo.


Ho provato a creare un item e a fare nella rispettiva sezione media e video l'upload del file video, con rispettivo tag {mp4}ipad_large{/mp4}. Ma non cambia nulla. Ho provato a inserire nel content dell'item lo scritp iframe di youtube per la condivisione tramite editor html, ma il risultato è sempre lo stesso.


nel pdf ci sono degli screenshot dei vari procedimenti/tentativi


Qualche idea, o è già capitato a qualcuno?


Potrebbe dipendere dal template (il template è sempre della k2 e sviluppato da loro)?

The problem that i have it's quite simple , but is bugging me and i have not found a simple way to deal with this . Perhaps it is a simple setting that i have overlook .


I have the Category K2 showing up in one column in index page .

Inside i have a post with some striptags for virtuemart to show up some items .


the main problem , when clicking on a vm item ( i have tryded with regular k2 item post , same problem ) i want to target self as a link .

instead is opening the post inside the coll index . behaving like a frame .

i need when clicking to follow up the link and open the damn thing . without opening it inside the so to call frame .


if needed ill provide a link to show exactly where is the problem .

Hello,

For the most pages I have a nice custom template but for the tagcloud results page and search results page I can't choose a custom template. How do i choose a custom template for these pages? It's a module in my Joomla site. In the module settings I can't choose another (custom) template.

I know I can change the default tag.php and K2.css files but then I change the K2 core files. So I don't think that is the right way to go.

Who can help me with this. I've tried to search the forum but I couldn't find the right answer.

Hi all,

I would like to display comma's between the tags in my website.
This page has these comma's: getk2.org/extend/extensions/date/item/985-b2j-k2-news-loader

Can someone please post a bit of php code so i can override the default php from k2?
or is it an option in k2 to display these comma's?

Ok figured out my issue. I was using the meta description for the menu item. I deleted it from the menu item and added the meta description to the k2 category and then it displayed correctly for the root category then for the item.

Hi,
I deleted meta description tag from menu items and put them to the sh404SEF menu items meta description.
This enabled the K2 items meta descriptions to be visible.

I think it should be possible with the use of K2 only but it isn't. Hope that The K2 update will solve this soon.

Another issue is the Tag page linked to the K2 tag and not linked to the menu item. There is no way to put the meta tags there.

k2 when coupled with sigpro and all videos provides rich content with no other extensions or components an it will live alongside joomla content, as well as outside ecommerce solutions.

K2 has integrations for two ecommerce systems that use the k2 content for the display of merchandise

I have never worked with k2 before. I'm doing some preliminary research on options for a Joomla component that we are looking to develop, so I'm investigating the possibility of using K2 for this project.

My questions are fairly basic. What are the advantages to using K2 over the standard Joomla article CMS? Specifically, our component is geared toward e-commerce or storefront projects and websites, so please keep that in mind for this next question. Is K2 something that will add functionality, or streamline processes, which would increase efficiencies and save development time?

Any information that anyone could give me on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I am in the process of developing a robust rental component for Joomla, and am strongly considering using K2 for this product. I have over 20 years of experience developing software for the rental industry, in properties and many other vertical rental markets.

I am, however, completely new to the K2 arena, but I'm sure my knowledge of the rental business will be easily transposed. I just logged onto the K2 forum, like 2 and a half hours after your post, and I'm not even sure of the standard protocol, but I would think that you and your project, along with my company may very well have some common synergies. Perhaps we could get in touch and discuss the possibilities.

Hi everybody !

I have already used K2 to build a website. Now, we are building this website again, adn we want to do something I don't know if it's possible and how.

We are using the Metropolis template from RocketTheme, and we are making a directory-like website where local businesses have their own webpages with their information. But we dont want a simple article, we want to split content in modules (One for Contact informations, one for a map, one for an image gallery...)

For now, I have built one example webpage with custom content modules in Joomla, but I will have tons of modules (at least 6 per business).

I have found the K2 Split Content plugin, but this is not exactly what I need. I have too much things to split.

I have thought of making an article for each information block with a tag attached so I can retrieve dynamically the related article by tag, but I don't see how it could be made...

I can't give you a link to the website, but I have attached a screenshot of what we want to do.

Any idea on this ?

div class=clear tags are causing the space.
Since you are only using one column, the quickest way to fix it would be to set leading items to 0, and just display primary items

hi, i have a weird problem with my item text.
