thanks for your reply.  I set the server error reporting to maxium and no errors showed, tested to see if K2 catagories would show, but nothing, still get white space (when i say white space I mean the template doesn't show at all, just a blank page)

When to look for the mb_encoding, it is not listed in the information section.  The only sections I see on the left hand side are System Information that has a line for multibyte string support which is enabled and another section that is the Directory Permissions.  Not showing any Server Sections at all.

Everything is shows enabled or installed.   Am I missing the server section (running 1.5.23)

Returned the menu Item back to the joomla article selection and website shows minus K2 Items.

 

I'm stumped.  Should I reinstall the K2, and if so what will happen to all of the items and categories already setup?

tags are working fine for me except when I want to make tag cloud with K2_Tools module, was trying to debug with J!Dump but that extension is not working also :S

hmm... In my case the Tag Funktion and the Tag Cloud in Module is okay.

@William I believe you were responding to my post, the problem with tag cloud is that it does not show anything only the module name. The SVN is about 2 weeks old I have seen in the bug page that someone has posted this as a bug, but I am not sure if it is repaired or not. Also it is very hard to know when SVN was last updated, it would be nice to know if it is updated every day or to have some numeric version note

@adam, this looks good. What trouble is the tag cloud giving?

Yeah, you keep waiting. I've lost count of all the software projects I've seen vanishing through the years due to developers losing initial momentum. I don't blame them, eventually everybody gets tired of what they're doing, especially if there's little to zero profit coming from it.

I wish I was wrong, but I don't expect K2 to resurrect. Better find another CMS, as Joomla is clearly not waiting for anyone and I won't get stuck with incomplete 1.5 just in order to use K2. For me, now it's Seblod time - hard as it may seem I find lots of advantages over both K2 and Zoo, including real live supporting developers for a change.

By the way Joomlaworks' twitter account is a huge joke. First (dismissive) looks at 1.7? BIKES & BABES CALENDAR?? Are you serious???

So, farewell Joomlaworks. Thankfully I did not invest too much time riding with you. A pity as some of your plugins looked nice enough to justify spending cash in them, but I won't risk facing an angry customer on your behalf whenever trouble hits and you're not around.

One last word - thanks for the helping hands at these forums, you guys are positively the best K2 has to offer.

I installed svn in a wamp and it worked for 1.5. The problem is when you want to migrate to 1.6 or 1.7. If you try with jugrade it doesnt work because it have no support for k2 yet, so you cannot migrate categories, users, items, tags at the moment...

Which joomla version are you using? Is it possible to provide a link to that page?

When I click on a profile of a user, that page shows, the user info with the following tags:

Hello ;-)  I have a question I cannot figure out about K2 Im hoping you can help.

 

When I create a new article it does not encapsulate in its own "bubble" (title being at the top of the article and Read More and Tags at the bottom).  It just creates a continuous "bubble" that all other articles created use.

I want the articles in their own "bubble" but cant figure out how.

Could you provide a link to that page? You might have a CSS conflict between K2 and your template, or a tag that hasn't closed properly, etc.

We have just released a minor update to Frontpage Slideshow, version 3.0.1.

This update fixes/adds/updates the following:
- Replaced Joomla date picker with jQuery UI date picker
- Add source type info in the slides list (e.g. Joomla! Article, K2 etc.)
- Add parameter check in "Movies" and "Uncut" slideshows for title and tagline (used in the navigation bar)
- New option added in the module and component menu item to completely disable jQuery if you already load it in your site and options to either load the library from a local copy (great for offline site building) or from Google's CDN. 1) made k2 seacrh function to work on joomla core search

2) little css fixes, (had some probs with pixellove template with k2 2.5)

3) fixed the problem when registred users couldnt comment when "Registred users to comment" function is on

4) fixed the search according to tags function

 

To do:

1) sh404 category linking integration

2) tag cloud

Are you using the tags inside the K2 item or the K2 gallery? If you are using the K2 gallery are you sure that you have set the plugin parameters to use the PrettyPhoto? If you are using the tags, have you put the extra parameter for the specific gallery?
Also did you clean your site cache to view the correct changes?

What do you mean the the tags no longer work? In which version of Joomla?

I would try to override that folder, making the changes in templates/yourtemplate/com_k2/templates

If you dont you will looks all your changes on upgrade

Hi all,

we are currently installing a new template on a website and decided to do it offline with MAMP.

 

From the server I have exported files and folders as well as the database.

Unfortunately some files and folder went missing, so I did a fresh install using the old database.

 

The database contained items that were no more relevant. In fact, jos_components contained K2, although obviously could not be there in a fresh install.

Therefore, from jos_components and jos_plugins I have manually removed all the rows referring to missing components and plugins, then I have reinstalled only components and plugins I really needed, including K2, of course.

 

The K2 database tables related to content, categories, tags and so on are from the old database.

 

Everything seems fine in the frontend. I could install the new template, make the new menus and so on.

 

However, when I tried to edit a K2 item in the backend, it brings to a error 500 page and there is nothing much to explain why.

When I try to edit a K2 Category it goes to a blank page.

When I try to edit a K2 Tag, Comments, User, Extra Field, Extra Field Group everything is fine.

Only Items and Categories give problems.

 

I do not know if it's related, but strangely enough, when I try to edit a mod_custom in Module Manager, the interface of the editor loads only partially.

 

Any idea what is going on?

    I need to implement a functionality that will allow web site visitors to add his/her own tags to article. Basically need to give users the ability to categorize articles the way they want to . Is this possible in K2 ? If yes, how ? I tried with searchable labels and textbox, but both are configured from the backend . Need a extra field that can be edited from front end .
