Hi, I'm using Joomla 1.5.21 Stable,
PHP version is: 5.2.14
Mysql version is: 5.0.91

I use the latest version of K2 - 2.4.1. When I add a new item, after i add the title, tag and the content itself, when i go to image tab to add or select a local image from my server, after i choose to save the article, it takes me to a blank page without any succes, if i chose to save that article without an image, it works perfectly. The same problem appears when i choose to upload a video, only this options is not taking me to a blank page, it's taking me to a 500 page error.

I've check if i got permision to the media directories and I do, the k2 information options seems to be right.

What should I do ? My website is www. peacock .ro if anybody needs to see the backend shoud anounce me and i'll create an account.

HiDespite a lot of changes and follow many tips & tricks from K2 forums, I still no getting any galleries in my items page.The zip file upload is fine and I can see my images in media/k2/galleries by FTP, my SIG version  is PRO 2.0.5 with correct path to media/k2/galleries.No error message I get, I can't see gallery thumbs in item page. My Joomla is 1.5.21 and PHP 5.2.14NOTE: If I disable SIG PRO I can see in item page the gallery tag like <gallery>1</gallery> what means SIG Pro is disable of course but working therefore. When activated again the tag disappears and the Gallery isn't showed as before.Any Ideas ?I pay for any support in this matter if an expert can fixed this issue asap for me,thanks,pablobr

Hi...i think i found a bug.I was trying to create a new K2 menu item as front page replacement, pointing to all my k2 categories. Everything worked fine, except that none of my articles had "read more" tag inside content, because on original K2 categories, I had set up "Item Introtext word limit" to 100, so there's no need to add a "read more" tag.Because of lack of read more tag, all my artices get full displayed on frontpage, and also there is no "Item Introtext word limit" on menu item at all!.Can "Item Introtext word limit" be added to K2 category menu item?Thanks a lot!

It seems like I have the same problem.

I use Joomla for about a year, and never seems to have a problem like this on other components that i've been using. Before i've choose to install the K2 component, i was using ZOO application bundled, but they've upgrade the ZOO to work only with mootools 1.2.4 and my template does not suport it, and I dont want to use they're template.

So, when i choose to add a new item in K2, it works normaly, I cand add a title, a text, tag's, etc, but when i go to Image, to upload one image, not a gallery image, i can choose the picture I want, i can add the Item image caption, etc, and when i save this article it apears a blank image.

If i do the same thing to that article, but not add an image, it works perfectly. Any ideas why ?

Just thinking about this behavior. Please someone post if i am incorrect.
When adding an item there must be - insert into jos_items and the first field id is autoincrement, gets a unique k2 item number.
Looking at the created record from the "real backend" you can see the tag inserted in the gallery field contains the unique k2 item number.


If this record is edited and a gallery added it should issue a mysql update command for id="k2id number" affecting only one record.
The behavior described must be some sort of problem with either bad code in the k2 or joomla core, or something wrong with mysql.
Since this seems to happen on sites that are working, What changed just prior to this behavior? Were new "bad" extensions added?

Hi Simon,I recently installed K2 on a site I working on and ran into a few bugs. First of all, the tagging system doesn't work - it displays them correctly in the item view but pressing on any of them brings me to an empty page.
Another problem is the category view, which looks fine on Chrome but Explorer and Firefox displays them at a diffrent layout  (and it doesn't look good).
And the most bizzare problem accures only on Chrome:
I want register users to be able to add items but when I log in and press on "add item" (again, only in Chrome) the browser gets stuck in an error loop and I quickly need to reload the page or my browser will crush. I tweaked the form a little to adjast some specific fields in it. What could I have done wrong?

Great solution! thanks a lot, I followed your instructions and it worked! Had to fight a bit couse your code line is not precise, but it works! With one disadvantage: the gallery does not hide when there is no Gallery attached to K2 Item, it stays there endlessly loading something on black background. If you have work around for this that would be great!

Hello,

We are in final stages of launching our K2 website (currently offline but can provide screen shots). We are having difficulty with a few minor issues with the layout such as:

- Wanting less space in between the article and "Read more" area in the category pages.
- Needing a smaller space in between the article and the Twitter module.

I need to focus on article writing and can no longer work on the design/backend of the site. If there are any K2 programmers interested in a more detailed list to provide for an accurate quote, please contact me as soon as possible.

Hi Bruno, it's easy just go to the k2 admin panel, to the category you want to eliminate the link and in the tab ¿category watch? (I dont know exactly the name in english, i have it translated to spanish) there are two marks about feeds. One of them its rss fedd icon and th other one feed link. un-mark this last one and there will be no more link in head tag to the feed. I think that its usefull because this link its used by the browsers to show a feed link at right of the web adress, but if you prefer...

the problem still persists and i haven't heard a thing for more than one year. Other post point to the same problem:

I think it's a shame that the team members ask for links etc. but no help is provided. This is definitely a bug that should be solved. I think it has something to do with this:

I'm new to K2.  I've installed it on a development site as well as the main one.  I've created a category and a couple of articles in each site and tried to display them.  I haven't copied Joomla content across since I didn't intend to convert the whole site but I did want to use K2  to manage blogging and commenting on the site.

 

The articles display if I set up the menu link to look for tags or users, but not if I set the menu link to look for categories.  This applies to both sites so it's clear that I'm missing something basic but what?

Good evening at all guys, i'm a new k2 user but not new to Joomla!.I've used the default com_content right now but when i discovered k2 i loved it! It's the best flexible content component i've found!

But there is a great limitation.
Let's go in order.

In a first time i've create a lot of categories: they reflected the topics i cover in my site. But some of the topics are repeated in more categorie. As example i have the categories "Shopping cart" (where i write about magento, prestashop, ecc.) and the category "Marketing" (where i write about web marketing, Facebook, Twitter and other marketing techniques). In both these categories i have the sub category "News".
So, i thought "Why not use the tags to organize contents?". I insert the following tags:
- Shopping Cart
- Marketing
- News

So i like to create a menù structure like this:
- Shopping Cart
  - News
- Marketing
  - News

But i can't create a menu item that shows only articles with both tags "Shopping cart" + "News". I can use only one tag. So I can't handle articles that can be inserted in 2 or more categories and show them in each category.

I'm forced to create a category and than filter tags in it. But so doing i obtain an url like this: mysite.com/blog/shopping-cart/article.html while i want an url like mysite.com/blog/article.html

I think that, in less of an appropriate solution (can anyone tell me one?) it's very useful to make manageable more tags than only one creating a tag type menu item.

Or can i obtain the same result in other ways, without use more sub categories? (I want only one category "Blog" in which i create each article - for url rewriting reasons, i want an url like mysite.com/blog/article.html).

If you have the video tab in k2 items and there is an upload button when you click the tab, allvideos is most likely properly installed. On my system i use ftp to put the wmv files on the server in the directory specified in the allvideos plugin and then use the browze server tag to point to the file in the k2 item.
Use the k2 category parameter to "show" the video.
You can use the code found with the plugin to embed the code into the content if you choose, If thats not working its probably a path problem.

I have over 3000 files. I would like to ftp the files to the server and provide links to the files. If I use href tags, K2 will not keep track of the number of downloads. I need to patch the code to support external links.
