plz try first to set a menuitem to a cat or an article. If you set to tag there are more options why it cant work.

Sorry I am not sure what you mean here, is this a K2 cat or article or a normal menu item. I have not setup any items in my Content - Section Manger and Category Manager. So I am now not sure if I also need to set this up or is K2 independent of this? I have also added a zip file with all my screen captures that I now have

Go to the admin back-end.
Go to Components -> K2
On the top right side there is an icon called "Parameters". You will find the options "selection-based tagging" or "free tagging". For the list choose "selection-based"

Good luck

Hi all,
I confirm that with the attached k2_serach 2.1 files now works the J! search, but using the k2 tools as search box, still not working....

hi

Donovan Ryan Hay said:Hi, OK, I have uploaded the files needed to fix this. Its not a proper fix, but its also not a hack. The k2 search plugin from version 2.1 seems to work properly and searches both tags and content, title...
All that you got to do is replace plugins/search/k2.php AND plugins/search/k2.xml
Just rename the two files you got on your server currently (e.g. k2.php_bak / k2.xml_bak ) and uplaod the two files that i have attach to the same directory. Thats it. It should work out the box

Hope this helps

Joomfish Menu Translation

Category: English K2 Community

Did this fix ever get added to K2.2? I added this solution [menu.xml] to my K2.1 site and then I recently upgraded to K2.2. When I compare the install folder for K2.2 in admin > components > com_joomfish > contentelements it includes only 7 files (none of which is menu.xml):

k2_attachments.xml
k2_categories.xml
k2_extra_fields.xml
k2_items
k2_tags
k2_users
translationK2_categoryFilter.php

I continue to have issues with tranlations in Joomfish missing the ID number at the end (see below).

If I remove the menu.xml file from admin > components > com_joomfish > contentelements
then I get the error in the admin backend:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getTable() on a non-object in /home/xxx/public_html/administrator/components/com_joomfish/models/ContentObject.php on line 669

Any ideas?

JoomlaWorks said:@Chucknology Thanks for that. We'll check out your solution and once we verify it works we'll integrate it into 2.2.

Menu's

Category: English K2 Community

Ok firstly I have done a clean install of Joomla V1.5.15 Template JA_Purity and only installed K2 so far. I am however having a bit of a problem with my menus using K2. I can only get the User blog menu to work but none of the others. I have setup everything as in the quick step-by- step guide community.getk2.org/notes/A_quick_step-by-step_guide_on_installing_and_setting_up_K2Now when I publish the article and I use the tag (Technical) then I would expect it to be listed in that menu item that I have created but it is not. If I then go to my page and click on the (technical) tag it will take me to a page and I will see the full article? The way I understand it when I click on the menu item Technical it should take me to that page and all those articles with the tag technical should be listed on that page.

K2 Templating (The Next Level)

Category: English K2 Community

OK...I've gotten past the "where do i put my K2 sub-templates" stage, and am ready to get into the customization of of the files provided:category_item_links.php  category_item.php  category.php  item_comments_form.php  item.php  latest_item.php  latest.phpI am beginning to see the logic behind the process; but I also have questions:(1) fonts/spacing is probably managed through CSS...how do I add my own custom fonts?(2) My first customized template will deal with my front page ('default' folder copied to 'fpage' folder for customization); what is the relationship (if any) between my customized fpage and extensions like RokTabs, RokStories or RokNewsPager?

Edit standard K2 RSS Feed tags?

Category: English K2 Community

Hi!
Question.  In creating posts the RSS feature works great..my only question is how can I edit the tags that show up saying:
<!-- generator="Joomla! 1.5 - Open Source Content Management" -->
In 2 locations.  I'd rather it say the name of the site if possible.  Any suggestions?

Auto twitter submission

Category: English K2 Community

The page no longer exists upon Joomla Extensions Page. What's the scoop?

Also, if you hard code AddThis or use a similarly functioning plugin upon your K2 or Joomla template, you may simply post the page by manually clicking the link. One benefit of performing this manually is that you have greater control over hash tags, which are good for helping people finding the Tweet as well as SEO.

Ulli Storck said:Of course Twitterfeed is a good thing. But AutoTweet does something different and can also post things when thy are not appearing in an rss feed. Also AutoTweet gives you more control over what is posted...

HOW DO WE PULL RSS FEED FROM K2 CATEGORIES INSTEAD OF JOOMLA

Category: English K2 Community

If you do not have one already, create a category that contains all the K2 categories you want in the primary feed, then link it to your main menu. Make that menu item your default menu.

Alwin said:In my case the RSS has to pull all the articles from K2 and display it as the default feed. I mean when the user clicks on the feed links in the adress bar he has to get his feed. Also I am sorry but I haven't got what you mean mean by "Just make a K2 category your "home" page ;)" . Could anyone please explain it ?

I would like to either hard code or see an option to add additional feeds into the home page URL as a dropdown. Is there such a plugin or module? This way, when someone is on the main page and selects the RSS button, such as the case on many large sites, they have the dropdown option to select sub-categories, authors, tags, forums, comments and the like.

Is there anything such as this or any hard coded method we ought consider?

Menu Item K2 Tag - Is there any way to control it?

Category: English K2 Community

How would you change that code so the tag list order is alphabetical?

- aw

B Kemler said:You can change the tag layout somewhat by editing the generic.php template file. This view is used for the tag view and the author view. I changed the ordering of the generic view in the code by changing the overall default ordering. To order them with the newest items at the top, in components/com_k2/models/itemlist.php I edited the section to set ordering. I changed the default (line 211 of my file) to:

default:
$orderby = 'i.created DESC';
break;

Thanks Gosling,

Which link is bad? I tried the one you posted and it loaded the K2 verions of downloads, which needs to be restyled again, due to recent Joomla Template change to Avanti by JoomlaWorks.

SEF, to be honest, I have not had time.
I have sh404SEF installed but needs to be configured, maybe soon :)

I have marked this as an area to look into on k2joom.com.

Although clicking TAGS retains the site style, thanks to micro theming, I am not happy with the result and will be looking at ways to improve it.

Elvis Sedic said:I'm also looking for an advice how to achieve constant look of the site.
It's really annoying that you don't have any influence on the output of the site when you click on tags, except a few option in general parameters.
