Don't delete that file. No URL will work.

Multiple URLs for the same content CAN exist, especially if your menu structure is not optimal. Even so, K2 strives to use a single URL as output in the relevant canonical <link> tag. As long as there's a single such URL, it doesn't matter how many URLs point to the same content.

As for sh404SEF vs. Route 66 Pro, that's up to you to decide.

to make it clear. Its not a caching problem. there is no cache active on that site. anyway, ive deactivated jchoptimize pro, deleted all possible cache (backend, browser, cloudfare).

If i deactivate "Enable custom SEF settings for K2 URLs" i see immediately the result. (the items url look like: .item/1454-shop.html)

I defined for "Prefix for category URLs" -> kategorie. Ive erased it and received for the urls above a 404. But i could reach to the url with this:
kauf-auf-rechnung24.com/shops/schuhe/itemlist/category/39-buero.html

and so on. If you would change /schuhe/ to /mode/ you get the same result. Now you can imagine how many urls you get with the same result if you have 100 categories.

im sure its a major issue with the SEF settings (router) of the component.


I think ive to solve it with a extra component/plugin. Because after the update to the newest k2 version i lost visibility at the search engines. After searching for the issue, i found out that k2 was generating multiple versions of urls with exactly the same items. Just the module result was different. For 'blumen' he took the module which is assigned to blumen. Same for 'kinder'

Question: Would you recommend sh404sef oder Route 66 Pro?

EDIT: its still a router Problem. I used the "original" and the router from v2.10.2. -> same output. Ive erased the router.php and received for the urls a 404 (whats correct). The item url looked like shops/auto/item/1454-a-t-u.html (canonical was correct: shops/auto/-a-t-u.html).

the path (menu) /shops/ is Item listings -> Tag. All the other url has 'shops' as parent. Could this be the issue?

Now the old links show a 404

Unless you did not follow the process as instructed, you should not see the old URLs.

sh404SEF surely gives you more control when it comes to URL management. You'll also need the relevant plugin for K2: www.joomlaworks.net/extensions/commercial/k2-plugin-for-sh404sef

If you switch to sh404SEF, remember to disable the Advanced SEF option in K2.

Try renaming your "tag.php" to "tag.php.bak" in /templates/YOUR_JOOMLA_TEMPLATE/html/com_k2/default/.

The grid may be different because extra CSS is also applied.

But I can't know that for sure unless you provide me with a URL to your site (and to a tag view specifically).

k2 is generating differnt url for the same menu.

menu is item-listings ->Tag with following url: kauf-auf-rechnung24.com/shops/buero.html

now k2 is generating for ex. following urls (multiple options are generated, but i just show 2):

1. kauf-auf-rechnung24.com/shops/blumen/kategorie/39-buero.html
Canonical is assigned to this url. It uses the module position at the bottom from /blumen/

2. kauf-auf-rechnung24.com/shops/kinder/kategorie/39-buero.html
Canonical is assigned to this url. It uses the module position at the bottom from /kinder/

Generally the url should be ..shops/blumen.html and ..shops/kinder.html. But k2 is adding the kategorie of buero included cat-id.
Also the ordering of the items are different. I think something went wrong with the assignement.

But apparently you're using K2 template overrides that ship with your template and these present content in a different layout.

Well, these URLs are not directly generated by K2 but probably some third party SEF URL extension.

Just built a new website www.chatfm.co.uk for our local community radio station and it's on Joomla 3.9.18, with Allvideos plugin 6.1.0 installed end enabled. We don't use K2, just the bare protostar template at the moment.

Uploaded a .mp3 file to a sub directory of images/audio so it appears in the tag on the page like:

And that's how it remains on the page too, no player is displayed, just the tag.

Also tried the full remote URL tag too:

If you play the URL link directly it plays:

Followed all the instructions in the documentation and looked at other topics here with no success.

I just found one that does include the k2-tags: extensions.joomla.org/extension/import-for-k2/

I have tried multiple export extensions but none so far include the associated K2-tags with each K2-item.

How can I accomplish this?

I'm looking in the k2 plugin for SH404SEF to change the URL prefix for the k2 TAG layout, but I'm not seeing any fields that relate to the tag layout.

Yes, global settings is a better option and is something that will come with v4. Exactly as you have common settings now for the generic views, you'll also be able to configure default settings for categories and expanded details for tags, users etc. The point is to normalize the output so that category, tag etc. all share the same HTML and display options.

As for the specific example you mention, sure it makes sense, but how often would you change your grid settings? Since you have 500 menus, the simplest way to change the grid now is to run an SQL query to replace the old grid with the new one, en masse.

Remove that and simply place an <input type="submit"... /> button before the closing </form> tag.

This is all done. The form is completely redone. It remains only now not to save the entered data using the save button, but to send them to the database by the send button. In K2 frontend (in itemform.php) the data is saved by clicking on the tag <a>:
