I'm pretty sure this is a bug but if not, please let me know what settings to change to fix it.

I've created a few menu items by tag and now every instance of those tags link to the menu items, instead of retaining the Itemid of the page where the link is. This is both tags on item pages and tags in the tag cloud of the k2_tools module.

Not only is this a problem because it will hop someone over into a different section of the menu but also... some of the menu items by tag are restricted to certain categories... so you can end up in a completely different section of the site and also only have a subset of the posts with that tag.

I'll second that request.

If you are using K2 for different uses in your website you can't use the same tags.
Categories for tags are needed as there are in K2 Categories.

Is there any way to tag videos specifically through K2 to allow just the video to be searchable not the entire article? Same situation with images.

I checked out the parameters in the category, which has settings for item ordering, but even after playing with those settings nothing has changed.

Any other ideas?

Now, I go into the menu item - Blah 5 (K2 » Itemlist / Category) - and look at the sorting options but they are deactivated (grayed out), so I can't modify them. I do see an option there that I think will fix this issue but it does not allow me to modify it.

Hi. The parameters on the menu item page are grayed out because you have select only one category. In this case K2 reads the parameters from the category edit page. If you choose more than one category on the menu item then the parameters are available there.

Last time I was using this for JReview, and I signed up Bit.ly, then I added my Twitter accounts on bit.ly page. I don't know if this will solve your problem, but maybe worth a try.

ps: k2 are becoming so popular, they are having shortage of workers. They never answer these days.

If you use more than one word as tag you will get 404 server error in SEF urls. This occurs because joomla cen respond to urls containing spaces but sh404 SEF can not.I have concluded this problem and this is the solution;

1. Locate on "components\com_sh404sef\sef_ext\"
2. Look for the file "com_k2.php"
3. If file is not in this location go to "components\com_k2\sef_ext\" and copy the file to the location mentioned step1.
4. Open the file "com_k2.php"
5. Goto line 130 where these codes are writen;

This code modification replaces the spaces in tags, with a word groups, with character "-". By this way sef urls do not contain spaces.

The title and description are important for key word searches, the sizes are important because Google allows filtering on image size, and the header tag is important because of the way that Google uses the header tags to establish the relative importance of content being indexed.

Any suggestions about how to do this would be most gratefully appreciated!

the problem is not the SQL request because I tested it in the file \administrator\components\com_k2\models\categories.php line 73 --> $categories = $this->indentRows($rows);
-> count($rows) returns 4 categories
->count($categories) returns 0

Our problem is showned by the Warning : "Warning: Parameter 4 to JHTMLMenu::treerecurse() expected to be a reference, value given in /partage/Dev/www/joomla/libraries/joomla/html/html.php on line 87 "

I've installed K2 and everything went fine, as expected until I've installed SIG Pro v2.0.4.

Two strange thinks happen:

1- On item view (K2) the gallery appears with no images on it (just white squares). Oddly enough when I press on a photo It opens the Photo slide show and it shows all the fotos as it should... I now this problem as been raised before here on the forum, but in regards to the SIG Free. But I've found no answer nonetheless.

2- This one puzzles me even more! Every time I enable the SIG plugin my Backend K2 Item tags (Image; Image Gallery, Extra Fields, etc...) get unaccesible. I.e. I try topress one of this tags to edit the image gallery, add a video or an attachment or fill in the item's extra fields but nothing happens. I mean, nothing at all...Not even an error. Well, actually on IE I get an "ERROR ON PAGE" SIGN ON THE BOTTOM LEFT.
This error only appears on Items with Images Gallery and If I "unable" the SIG Pro plugin, everything goes back to normal.... Those Items without images work fine...

Can someone please help me. I'm kind of in a dead line here :-)...

hi, thanks for all insights. i will carefuly consider your approach to multiple k2.mods and metamod to order complex display. and your answers were exaclty what i asked.
i did in fact similar structure of the magazine like yours, but reversed. the magazine is a parent category. each issue is a category under the magazine, and the sections are tags assigned to the articles.
but this way i have a problem with creating a menu for the sections using the tagged items in category, for it uses generic layout not displaying the author.

in your magazine i see you don't give focus on the authors, you see the author only in an item-view, right? in my case it is a necessity to have the authors visible in all views, so now i wonder how to deal with this issue.

One note on this - because the magazine is published quarterly, the exact time and date that articles are published are unimportant. Because the tag view has a fixed ordering (by date), it's important to create your articles in the right order. Anyway, K2 is very flexible. There's some odd stuff that goes on, but it gives vastly more scope for complex layouts than core Joomla.

Hi. Check your menu settings about displaying page title. Also check your template. It seems to be a template issue as the page title is set correctly by K2 ( you can see this from the title tag on your page source ).

Please add {captcha} after line no 63 of file components/com_contact/views/contact/tmpl/default_form.php
Please add appropriate line break tag and instruction text.

I am attaching modified file so you can directly replace the file in above said directory but don't forget to install and enable plugin reCAPTCHA Integrator Plugin download from www.joomlaez.com/
I will hope that it will help community to add recaptcha anti spam protection in contact form
